Im beginning to think he's been found out down south now and nobody will take him. Ok he won the league cup with Birmingham but he got relegated twice and then jumped to Villa who were awful and haven't recovered, Lambert is doing ok there with what he has got. Not sure what happened at Forest but he only won 1 game against the bottom of the league side.

He has came out saying he wants the Sunderland and Palace jobs.

I think he might get the Middlesboro job though.

I quite like Big Eck as a pundit and don't like to see people out of work but I think Hibs would be more his level. His record at Scotland was good but that's because of what Walter did before him. Eck is a motivator short term ad that's why he was suited to international football.

The guy is just an atrocious manager.

Utter horse shit.

Record losses to Celtic, finishing third in a 2 team league, losing to Viktoria Zizkov and other utter shite in Europe (with THAT squad!!), signing Capcuho, Emerson, Ostenstad, Maniero, Mladenovic. Djordjic, Namouchi, Jeffers etc (most of his signings were dire and had to be paid off costing us millions).

Need I go on?

TERRY BUTCHER is being lined up to take over as manager of Hibs.

Record Sport understands Butcher is set to be approached by the Easter Road club who yesterday parted company with Pat Fenlon.

Chief executive Rod Petrie is keen to tie up Butcher whose current deal with Inverness expires at the end of the season. He has not signed an extension.

Meanwhile, Fenlon revealed he decided to quit BEFORE the midweek derby defeat by Hearts.

Supporters gathered outside the stadium on Wednesday night calling for his sacking.

However, privately, the Irishman had already decided to go and had contacted Petrie before the League Cup crunch to set up a meeting.

He said: “I asked to meet the chairman on Tuesday and my mind was made up at that stage.

“Beating Hearts wouldn’t have changed my mind.

“I read some reports after the game and they were overly critical of the team because we played well.

“The performance at the start was probably as good as we’ve managed since I came here.

“Sometimes there’s a way to lose and if you go out having a go you can sort of accept it.

“My only regret is we didn’t finish in style – it would have been a nice way to go out.”

Fenlon’s revelation will stun supporters but if the manager had any lingering doubts they were surely dispelled by the post-match reaction.

Players and staff had their cars moved so they could leave the stadium without having to confront the angry mob.

Fenlon, who took charge two years ago after Colin Calderwood, said: “It’s not nice but in society and life that’s just the way it is. The players were disappointed with that but I suppose it is passion from the fans. It is not what you want to see. I don’t think the players deserved it.”

Astonishingly, the players first heard the news of the manager’s departure from the media. Fenlon hadn’t said a word at training.

He added: “It was a very difficult decision. I’ve been here a while and love the place but you have to be fair to everyone.

“It’s the right decision at the right time and the club will kick on.

“I’ve been thinking about it since Aberdeen last Saturday. I spoke with a few people I am close to and came to that decision.

“I took training because I wanted to focus on Sunday to make sure we get a result at Motherwell. If we win, it puts us in a good position.

“I’ll speak to the players on Saturday – it will be difficult.”

Kenny Shiels and Jimmy Calderwood are also being linked with the vacancy.

Assistant manager Jimmy Nicholl will take the team at Motherwell.

Fenlon said: “I’ve been privileged to manage this fantastic club. I just feel it’s the right time.”

Petrie praised Fenlon and said: “Pat arrived when we were at a low point and worked tirelessly.

“He has taken us to two Scottish Cup finals and assembled a talented squad but feels he should hand over the reins. We thank him for all of his efforts.”

It's amazing what goes down as an achievement in this country. If their squad was so talented their manager wouldn't be walking. I've never quite understood why the Edinburgh two never take their chances yet settle for the kind of tosh above.

Define the worst manager ever?

Certainly up there for worst Rangers manager.

Nottingham Forest have to be the biggest vouchers for him - top 6 side then he goes and they were awful, he leaves and Davies returns them to top 6.
