John Brown & Craig Houston handing over the SoS petition at Ibrox

Come on guy's lets not get personal. Ally has still got supporters willing to give him a chance, that does not mean they are bad people. Obviously 15-20.000 just want to support Rangers whatever. That should be looked at with respect and not disgust.

JOHN BROWN and Craig Houston delivered the petition to Ibrox and said season ticket sales show the Sons of Struth are winning their battle with the Rangers board.

RANGERS supporters chief Craig Houston last night insisted the season-ticket boycott proves fans are winning the battle against the under-fire Ibrox board.

The Sons of Struth frontman and Gers legend John Brown yesterday delivered a petition with more than 7000 signatures calling for guarantees over the future of the stadium.

Houston set up an e-petition for supporters to sign if they backed the SoS stance that Ibrox isn’t sold or used as security for any loans and called for fellow fans to withhold season-ticket money.

Yesterday morning a copy of the document was marked for the attention of Rangers chief executive Graham Wallace and handed in to his offices at Argyll House.

Houston is adamant the campaign to avoid handing over any money to the current board is working despite suggestions from within the club that more than 15,000 season tickets have been purchased.

He said: “There are just over 7000 signatures but it is still running online so it will continue to creep up.

“This is just to let the board know that even though the season is finished we are not going away.

“If we need to spend our summer organising activities to put our point across that’s what we will do.

“People can argue the board are not listening to us but as fans of the club our only choice is to keep bawling and shouting.

“When we were discussing the possibility of having a season-ticket trust back in February I thought if Rangers only sold 20,000 we’d have had an effect.

“The low sales are not because of Sons of Struth or the Union of Fans. It’s because that’s what fans want.

“Supporters have decided en masse they don’t want to buy one anymore and even if sales were to creep up to 20,000 then I still think that is a victory for the normal follower.”

The e-petition calls for Rangers fans to be given written legally binding assurances about the future of Ibrox and Murray Park.

And with every signature an email is automatically sent to the business address of Gers director Sandy Easdale.

Easdale has threatened to sue Houston claiming he is being ‘‘harassed’’ after receiving 2500 emails in one day from furious punters.

But the Sons of Struth founder has reiterated that he will continue his campaign against Easdale and his fellow directors.

Houston said: “When I set up the petition the original hope was to get three or four thousand signatures.

“I put it online about one in the morning before going to bed and when I woke up the following day there were already 1200.

“I’m delighted we have beaten the target and it’s good the club get notified every time a fan signs up.

“This was about showing we are not going away.”

Houston is also involved with the coalition of supporters groups, the Union of Fans but admits they are no further forward in their attempt to gain security over Ibrox and Murray Park in return for their season-ticket cash.

The umbrella organisation, who have pledged their support to Dave King, met with Wallace two weeks ago.

However, their pleas fell on deaf ears. Houston said: “The Union of Fans are still trying to get dialogue with the club on the season-ticket trust which has been set up.

“But after the original meeting there has been no correspondence, no emails, no phone call, nothing . Even though we have been trying to contact them.

“The dialogue has stopped because it seems one side didn’t want any.

“The board keep saying they are ready to listen but I don’t know who they are ready to listen to. They will only listen to people who will agree with them.

“We are trying to get supporters to buy season tickets but only if they give us legal assurances.

“It shouldn’t be that difficult to appease the fans and the many thousands who want to attend games but only if the ground is not going to be sold. I’m still confident in Dave King and trust him.

“The frustration is that there is not much news at the moment but that doesn’t surprise me as there are people in the shadows trying to spread negative stories about him.”

Most fans of that lot across the city probably don't want or agree with the point of the petition, so only the dimmest of their dim would sign such a thing. It's much more likely that they infiltrated the Ready to Listen campaign in numbers.

:roflmao2: I hardly think signing the petition under the name Daffy Duck or any such fictitious name is in any way meant to support it. It's a petition about Rangers, therefore they are bound to sign it; it's all about the Rangers.

Even if a few hundred of their dimmest ones signed it because they're not right in the head, it's still a high number of signatures from our own fans.
