If we could start with a blank sheet of paper that might well be feasible, as for example with FC United of Manchester.

 

Unfortunately we don't have a blank sheet of paper.

 

The way football clubs are structured mostly as plc's in this country means the only way to do it is buying sufficient shares to get some degree of influence and that's still a long way off despite more than 10 years of the RST and the newly formed RF.

I wonder if the day will ever come when we see the launch of an FC Rangers of Glasgow?

That would be my favoured outcome.

 

It would certainly challenge all those who say that "the club is the support" to put their money where their mouth is. I wouldn't expect there to be any great desire for it, indeed it would result in the same 'rhebel' insults that many dish out at the moment.

We'll need to see how the future pans out but I wouldn't rule this out. The only certainty at Rangers these days is uncertainty.

 

Nothing can be taken for granted any more.
