Head-hunting, published accounts and AGM

Recommended Posts

If you cast your mind back 6 months to May, the Club were apparently using Odgers Berndtson to advertise for a Chief Operating Officer and a Chief Commercial Officer and it was spoken about on the Gers forums including here.

Given that - as far as we know - nobody was hired for either of those positions, it maybe raises questions as to what was going on back then and if those job ads were really for Rangers?

Odgers Berndtson certainly don't have any executive positions currently advertised for a Scottish football club, just 8 oil & gas industry positions in Aberdeen and four positions at Dundee University.

If the Rangers board are no longer (or were never) using Odgers Berndtson to advertise executive positions, it would be interesting to know what company and/or methods they're using to find a new CEO and FD.

The job ad for the COO at least was definitely for Rangers. Commercial Officer I couldn't say.

I think the situation has been fluid and any such appointments/plans were shelved or changed.

???

1. Cashflow, the lack of of.

2. Uncertainty regards who would take things on, leave stage clear for their men.

3. Certainty regards who would take things on, leave stage clear for their men.

4. Place ads with no intention of going through with process.

etc.

I'd have thought regards present that Ashely will select or at least approve of new appointments.

The vital timing for them is to have the ducks aligned a few week prior to AGM, ie. probably within the next fortnight.

So as there can be as smooth a possible changeover, maintain executive control, look for 75% on any special resolutions, blame the last lot, everything is going to be fine.

We have on RIFC board:-

- Somers

- Easdale.J (Easadle Block)..26%

- Crighton (Laxey)................16%

- Llambias (MASH).................9%

- GAP (MASH)

- Leach (MASH/Consultant)

26+16+9= 51

Rangers Retail (director representing TRFC (new appointments today)
