Inspired by Gersnet's annual winter sabbatical I thought I'd ask everyone's views on the winter shutdown. Personally I'm all for it. 3/4 weeks of no football just after the festive season would afford fans a break from the expenses of following their team.

I think football should be spread into the summer a bit more, you can beat going to a game in the heat!

 

But im for a january break aslong as the Xmas period stays. The 4 games in 10 days is part of Xmas and i cant imagine that period without the games there.

 

The players do deserve a 2 week break after that busy period. Id say 2 weeks of no football from Jan 3rd then the cup competitions and then the league again so they are gettin 4 weeks of no league football.
