Fixture rearrangements due to TV and postponements are getting daft

Recommended Posts

There's some crazy stuff going on at Hampden as the clowns running the sponsorless SPFL bend over for TV broadcasters.

Starting this Friday night at Ibrox is the first of 3 Friday night fixtures in a row for us.

On top of that, our recently postponed games against Hearts & Cowdenbeath have been rearranged for weekends when we were supposed to be playing other SPFL games, so those fixtures have now also been postponed.

That means the trip to Dumfries to play Queen of the South on the 7th March is now postponed to make way for the rearranged Cowdenbeath game and the game against Alloa Athletic at Ibrox on Saturday 4th April is now postponed to make way for the rearranged Hearts game at Ibrox on the 5th April.

With 7 empty midweek slots between now and the 4th of April it seems pretty crazy that our postponed games against Hearts & Cowdenbeath couldn't have been played midweek. Fair enough with the Hearts game, but why they haven't rearranged the trip to Cowdenbeath for a midweek night is just mind-boggling.

The QOTS game scheduled is cancelled as they are still in the cup, and the Alloa game scheduled is cancelled for the diddy cup final, so it actually makes a lot of sense to rearrange previously cancelled games to empty weekend slots.

Can't believe they managed to get something right, but there you are!

A sad indication of where we are as our games get cancelled because QOTS and Alloa are playing in cups that we have been humiliated in and dumped from.

In fairness, the League Cup exit at Hampden was expected by most of us because our team and the magic clipboard are absolutely rotten, but the Ramsden's and Scottish Cup exits are just an embarrassment most of us would probably rather forget.

Remember the days the the game was played for the sport and not for the money.

Remember the days we used to know the game was on a Saturday at three o clock.

Remember the days we used to look up at the sky to see if it was raining and not down at a telephone.:)
