Rangers set to discover soon if they can keep Arsenal kid Gedion Zelalem...

I agree that the goals and assists stats are only one measure of value but wouldn't you agree that a certain Andy Murdoch "rarely loses the ball, makes intelligent passes and normally finds himself to receive the ball again and recycle" but he can't even get in the squad this season.

We need players in midfield who make a difference, Zelalem doesn't make a difference IMHO; Law did last season and Shiels has shown this season that he can do likewise. Zelalem may be more technically gifted than either Law or Shiels but they add more value to the team IMO.

Murdoch isn't even close to being as good as Zelalem, poor comparison IMHO. Murdoch doesn't even come close to influencing games the way Zelalem can. Murdochs 1st touch isn't as good and he doesn't look to get on the ball as often to do something with it.

How is Law influencing games THIS season when selected ? Flatters to deceive, as does Shiels. I don't think either of those two players add more value than Zelalem. Law runs around a lot, looks busy, shirks responsibility and looks to pass sideways or backwards. Shiels has been caught in possession numerous times and put us under pressure.

Who from the reserves is ready to step up with the same quality?

We're 8 points clear with almost 3/4 of the season left, the league is already won. Playing players on a weekly basis who we won't have next season is a complete waste of time. Instead we should be playing one of our own, anyone at all, regardless of age or if they are inferior. I would prefer to be playing a younger player who can develop, but anyone who will still be here next season will benefit from getting regular game time. The more our players play this season, the more integrated they will be in the new system and with the new players.

And what happens when the league is officially won? Do we still continue to develop other teams' players at the expense of our own? If we go 11 points clear this weekend will you still want to see us playing on loan players?
