BT to blot out sectarian chants

Recommended Posts

I listened to a radio debate before the match on Saturday about this featuring some journailsts who aren't well favoured here or amongst Rangers fans in general, one of whom obviously doesn't understand the meaning of strict liability.

The debate appears to be polarising between those who think that it doesn't matter what anyone sings inside a football stadium/ the only people who are offended are those who want to be offended etc; and those in the strict liability camp who think that such offensive behaviour has no place in modern society and a club should be responsible for any offensive behaviour within their stadia and be punished accordingly perhaps by docking points etc.

It's blatantly obvious that there is an increasing tendency to ignore the law/ test the police and prosecuting authorities on this issue and it's time the SG made up their minds and took a strong position on one side of the fence or the other.

All parties in the election should make their positions clear in their manifestos.

It should be kept away from predictable and incompetent vote seeking populists. They should be concerned with getting rid of unnecessary legislation (2010), which was rushed, is badly flawed and discriminatory.

The 'I'm Offended Bus' is pathetic and based on subjective and selective judgements.....whether it be in a so-called 'MODERN SOCIETY' or not. People might want to take a closer look at how the 'modern society' is developing and ask themselves in what general direction are we going.
