Solid Display Lacking Quality In Final Third

same coin just different sides. we drew with killie a team in free fall with no manager at ibrox but we don't have any negatives that should be mentioned! Aye ok

No-one is saying things are perfect but some are overly keen to point to any perceived negatives without being realistic about where we are in our recovery or balancing them against the positives.

The Kilmarnock side that we played was under a caretaker manager who got them to put in a real shift within a shape that appeared reasonably organised and made them difficult to break down. They are a side who have drawn twice against Celtic this season, including a goalless game at Parkhead. They blow warm and cold, generally do better away from home and it was predictable they would put in a performance against us in the Cup.

Equally predictable, was that MW would set-up in a more cautious formation than normal after seeing the hysterical reaction after the St.Johnstone result. The base objective on Saturady seemed to keep a clean sheet and we managed to do that, the fourth in a row. Perhaps those who have moved from the defence to the forward line regards their criticism could acknowledge that.

We had chances, hit the woodwork twice and did enough to win the game, but couldn't put the ball in the net.

Regards overall progress, the important thing is developing the football infrastructure as a whole and getting promoted.

Anything in the Cups is a bonus but isn't the true barometer of our progress. Hibs (who we beat 4-2 with 10 men) have beaten various top tier sides this season but would swap league positions with us in an instant in return for their Cup victories.

Patience, Promotion and Realism are required..............then we prepare for next season
