Revisionism in action

Recommended Posts

In today's Times, one Paul Forsyth produces the biggest piece of revisionism since David Irving.

Troubling trend

Aberdeen will find out on Thursday the outcome of disciplinary proceedings opened by Uefa into trouble at their Europa League tie against Apollon Limassol earlier this month. The Pittodrie club are charged with crowd disturbances and a failure to include stewards among their travelling support.

Violence among Scottish football fans seems to be on the rise. Ugly clashes preceded Celtic’s recent friendly against Sunderland, the Dundee United chairman, Stephen Thompson, is alleged to have been assaulted after last Wednesday night’s Tayside derby and, at Ibrox on Saturday, a fiery clash between Hibs and Rangers brought to mind the 2016 Scottish Cup final, after which fans rioted on the pitch. Are we in the early stages of a return to hooliganism? Let’s hope not.

Where, and when, on Saturday did Irish National Socialists clash violently with UK National Socialists?

Where on Saturday did supporters invade the pitch, assault opposition players, vandalise the stadium, and attack opposition support? (The tactics adopted by the Leith fhilth players of assault and battery were reminiscent, perhaps, of Hampden, but this is, I'll wager, not what the clown Forsyth meant).

Where, and when was a Hibs' Board member manhandled?

We know what this piece is attempting to do. The Club really has to raise Cain with the editor and publisher.

Who can forget ra Sellik projecting their famed dignity and integrity in 2001? They threw Scottish farmers under a bus at the height of the Foot and Mouth outbreak. Ten million beasts destroyed, columns of smoke from numerous funeral pyres blighted the skyline. Sellik took out full page adverts in newspapers to assure their support that all meat and fishery products served at kiosks and hospitality restaurants, were 100% Irish sourced.

Subscribers to blood and soil nationalism need to be assured that sustenance emanates from the old sod.
