"A complete dick" is one reference I heard first hand.... Whilst at Dundee Utd if his team won it was "we beat Rangers and results are very important" but whenever his team would lose it would be "we are all about development". I heard he was a decent coach but was being fast tracked and gaining an unwarranted reputation. The word luck was used a fair few times. Fast-tracked? Perhaps at the beginning -- resentment maybe? -- but it looks to me like he's done his time, at least as a coach. He's got no experience of Management, except Hearts, which was too much too soon. Liverpool were not that great but professional and took their chances - a wonder free-kick and a lucky deflection! It's Liverpool's to lose now, and I don't see it. He's got no experience of Management, except Hearts, which was too much too soon. Not resentment at all. But someone who knows Cathro through SFA courses - knows him better than any of us anyway. And the person I spoke to said that he was definitely a good coach, but not so much as be in the positions he was in with some more than decent clubs. It certainly wasn't resentment because the person that told me isn't that type of person - it was, I would say, more a case of curious surprise as to why he was in those positions. I was told much of this at a time when we were being linked with Cathro ourselves and the person who told me was adamant he didn't think he was the right person for the job based on his experiences with him - and the person is a big Rangers fan too, as well as on the Academy staff - I think that person was proven correct - if Cathro couldn't make it at Hearts he more than likely would have been an abject failure at Rangers. 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
