Sad to hear of the passing of Neale Cooper. Mainly remember him from his Aberdeen days. Probably a classic example of a player who peaked too early. Can’t believe he was only 24 when he signed for the Gers! He was only 20 when he won the ECWC (and the Super Cup), the last Scottish team to win a European trophy. People forget how lucky Sir Alex was to inherit so many outstanding youngsters who went on to become top players.

I vaguely remember Neale Cooper playing for us under Souness, he was instantly recognisable. Stats say he played 17 league games in 1988/89, yet according to Wiki he never got a medal. Anybody know why?

Also, he scored one goal for us, but I can’t find anywhere on the internet who it was against. Does anyone on here remember it??

Scored against Aberdeen on his debut at Pittodrie.

He did.  Same game as the Durrant injury.

Very sad to hear about Cooper’s passing.  He was no age at all.
