Referee for St. Mirren Game is Ex-St. Mirren Player

Recommended Posts

I remember saying to my other half that I had never seen the 4th official influence a decision in a game before but it had happened twice to us.  One was on 25th October 2017 when Ryan Jack was sent off against Kilmarnock on the say so of the 4th official after a clash with Kirk Broadfoot.  I am still searching for the second one!

We are Rangers fans, not yahoos.

Maybe our acceptance is half the problem but it is what it is.

If whoever it is that appoints refs allows this guy to ref us this weekend the are mad.

It would be madness and quite possibly a failure of duty of care.

That’s exactly what they would want.

When I was refereeing my own youth team I actually had a reputation for giving the other team the benefit of doubt. So being an ex-player doesn't mean he will be against us.

It doesn't really matter what it does or doesn't mean. Having an ex-player refereeing a game his former team is featuring in is beyond ridiculous. A ref is meant to have no vested interest in a match and has to declare any team(s) he has any allegiances to. So this makes no sense.

What a tin pot league setup we have.
