I heard several recent examples of the deep-rooted sense of entitlement among the Celtic community. The CL will be "poorer for not having Celtic in it". Celtic might have to "drop down" to the EL for a season but the league title is a "foregone conclusion" and they'll be back in the big league again next year. Rangers might be spending "a bit more" on players but are still a "long way" from challenging Celtic.

The joy of this mass delusion will become clear on the day Rangers win the league title, whether this season or in the future. I believe we will see a melt down the likes of which hasn't been seen in living memory. For me, it's essential we enjoy every second of it because the journey will become more hysterical as the realisation begins to bite that the party might indeed be coming to an end.

I hope it's this season because that would produce the more spectacular meltdown. They are indeed deluded because they're basing their delusion on what's happened since 2012 when they found themselves in a league with no Rangers and full of teams bringing in freebies from league 2.

The sheep no less, the self proclaimed giant of the Scottish game did just that in this transfer window. Now to be fair we were doing something similar in recent times but we're not now. Unbiased knowledgeable commentators are already saying that the Gerrard machine are genuine title challengers.

And it's interesting that Rodgers recent behaviour is being interpreted by some as a developing exit strategy. What better time to get out if he sees the writing already on the wall. Being beaten by Stevie G would do his ambitions of a return to the EPL no good at all.

Charlie Nicholas concerned at prospect of Steven Gerrard's Rangers

Charlie Nicholas has told Sky Sports News (Thursday 12:30pm) that he is concerned as a Celtic fan that Rangers are beginning to close the gap under Steven Gerrard.

Gerrard has made an unbeaten start to life as Rangers manager, picking up four wins as well as three draws against Aberdeen with 10 men, FK Shkupi in Macedonia and NK Osijek.

The Gers currently sit ahead of Rangers in the Scottish Premiership by a point after Celtic lost 1-0 to Hearts on Saturday, in what was the start of a dismal week at Parkhead.

Nicholas, who played for Celtic during two spells, is concerned that Rangers are closing the gap between the two Old Firm sides ahead of the first clash between the bitter rivals on September 2.

“I am concerned that if Rangers get a bit of momentum, they will close this gap,” Nicholas said. “They lost seven home games last season. That won’t happen this season.

“It’ll be a harder place to go and win. People are already looking to September 2 and saying, is this going to be a test? Well it will be. As a Celtic fan, I am concerned because Gerrard will close this gap."

Celtic have suffered a loss to Hearts as well as an exit from the Champions League following a loss to AEK Athens, with Brendan Rodgers frustrated at a lack of summer activity. The saga surrounding Dedryck Boyata remains.

Rangers meanwhile are going strength to strength and are expected to progress past Slovenian outfit Maribor into the Europa League play-off round on Thursday night, where they will face either FC Ufa or Progres Niederkorn.

Celtic have essentially had a bye to win trophies over the last six years but their fans crow like their achievement has genuine value. The shit will soon be flowing down the crumbling stands at Parkhead.

If we keep winning in the league a win at the piggery on September 2nd will produce a meltdown of classic proportions as we move 4 points clear of them.

Mass suicides in the east end bring it on .
