Charlton have released striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink after only one season at The Valley.

Hasselbaink joined Charlton last summer on a free deal from Middlesbrough, where he spent two successful seasons.

But he did not transfer his goalscoring form and the 35-year-old scored only two goals in 25 Premiership appearances as the Addicks were relegated.

The Holland international's last goal was in Charlton's 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Boro in January.

Great great striker in his day and one of the EPLs better finishers over the years with some great goals for Leeds and Chelsea.

Im sure a few will mention that we could move in for him but id say Jimmy is finished. He could probably still do a job in the SPL coz he is physical but I cant see it.

god no! He's had his day and if he couldn't get a game for Charlton then he should be no where near Rangers

The last player we signed that was like that was Fanny sorry Franny Jeffers. I think that says it all!!:)
