The momentum argument isn't backed up by facts. Over the 20 odd years of the play offs , the highest percentage of winners are teams who were 3rd ie. The teams that as just losing out and regarded as losing momentum

The last ten years:

Burnley, 5th.

Blackpool, 6th

Swansea, 3rd

WHU, 3rd

Palace, 5th

QPR, 4th

Norwich, 3rd

Hull, 4th

Huddersfield, 5th

Fulham, 3rd

Four thirds and six lower places, proving absolutely nothing because the stats on their own don’t show if the teams in third plummeted from number one or soared from number seven.

I had a wee flutter on a draw double, it wasnt far away, fine lines. Villa v WBA is still finely in the balance and the 2nd leg will be good but Leeds have an advantage now which I fancied yesterday.

Villa v Leeds at Wembley would be some match, two giants.

WBA body language before the pens wasnt there, you could tell Villa would cruise the shoot out.

If Leeds can get through tonight then the Wembley final is pretty much two sleeping giants.
