(Old posters - no comments about Buffel and Namouchi). I still rate Buffel. He wiped Porto at Ibrox. Devil's advocaat 1,275 Posted February 22, 2021 Share Posted February 22, 2021 Is this players who played for us in europe, or european players who played for us (I think not with the inclusion of Moore and Reyna, but then Negri wasn't here long enough to have a big impact in european games) Prso scored a few in europe, but his play was measured in a lot more than his goals. Niemi was great for us, but there's no contest. We've recently been debating the greatest keeper we've ever had, Goram, Klos and Greggs being three of the front runners, Niemi was good, but not in the same class as Klos! Edit - Hard to do with that midfield, but I'd try my damndest to find a place for Gazza too... can we play 2 at the back??? I presume the latter given the inclusion of Reyna in Gribz's post. I'd have van Bronckhorst over Tugay, particularly in the midfield. Tugay's best European performance was as a sweeper. Huistra is the main non-Brit from the 92-93 run, and got a couple of goals, but probably wouldn't get into my team. Mols in the 99/00 season was fantastic, and have him well before Negri (although I've got no time for Negri). I'd go back 4 and have Numan and possibly Porrini. Weir and Cuellar were brilliant in the 2008 run but Amo and Moore had some fantastic performances under Advocaat.
