I'm going to give it to Sands again.

 

Once more he showed a great appetite for the game and wasn't phased on or off the ball. Not only that he's aggressive in the challenge and does very well aerially against bigger players.

 

I do think he can still be guilty of over-playing at times but that's clearly what the manager wants so we'll just have to get used to the odd stray pass.

Sands for me.  Very calm and assured in pressure situations.

Many great performances second half last night.

Goldson, Kamara, Borna and Tav but for me James Sands yet again (2 slack first half passes aside) was tremendous.

 

The flick over the top of our defence by Veerman in the first half would have caused us a serious problem had McGregor been in goal, McLaughlin handled it perfectly.

McLaughlin was my second choice for MotM.

 

The save in the second half when the player was put in on goal (I initially thought it was offside but it wasn't) was top, top class.  Aside from that he controlled his area well and you can see his confidence growing.

Add to that how well he conducted himself in his post match interview, very professional and unbecoming of a goalkeeper. 🙂

Was he definitely on or was it just not reviewed as it didn't mater? I though it was off but never got another look. It's strangely not in the highlights package.

At the time I thought he was a yard off but looks like Tav played him on.
