It was indeed GL, DP and GT they split Laxey's holding between them. Iirc King had offered 2p per share more than Laxey accepted from The Theee Bears. That was a very peculiar decision from Laxey not typical behaviour and quite telling in its own way

A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then but wasn't there was some issue about payment terms/deferred payment or some such. Perhaps cash on the nose was important to Laxey at the time.

I think it was more a case of they'd done their homework and simply opted not to deal with King, it could be advocated that they believe subsequent events proved that to be the correct decision.

Thanks again !

Yes, I agree with what you infer re. DK/Laxey.

Less entities will want to/can deal with DK today, than 7 years past.

The fact that C1872 were effectively captured says a lot about both parties.

You could well be right but business is business and good people do deals with bad people every day without loss of reputation. There are usually only two barriers to overcome - can the acquirer demonstrate they have the funds - and can both parties agree on payment terms, warranties, etc. If Laxey decided for some other reason to sell instead to another party then you can bet your boots there was a compensatory arrangement on the side.
