When can we expect the minutes?

Don't know but it will be the potential new controlling shareholders that will be determining how the club goes forward.

Will Patrick Stewart have been representing their vision on the public expression of traditions at Ibrox ?

Bear in mind that the owner of the San Francisco 49ers has had a Catholic upbringing and the surname, Cavenagh has an Irish origin 😂

  • Rousseau changed the title to Fan Advisory Board

Credit to the FAB for putting the points forward to the board, covering most of the main points.

The response from the club is verging on pathetic. They still haven't stated what was wrong with the display other than in the most general of terms.

To try and put the blame onto the police who "seized the banner at half time" (the photos show it was seized the following day) which nobody knew about is crazy. It's the board's statement that caused the front page headlines and to try and shift the blame is cowardly.

they then contradict themselves by saying that we have to protect the identity and traditions that define us, whereas they have done the exact opposite.

Patrick Stewart has done a huge amount of damage to himself with the support. I'm not sure he will survive long term. Politically he may benefited from saying that we may have been hasty in issuing the statement but to double down has completely lost any support he had from a large section of the support, and that's not good for anyone.

Result is more control over UB messaging (TIFO) within the stadium and if UB don't comply then we'll see what happens.

I don't think the new owners would think twice about getting rid of the UB section. They would probably welcome it.

Lip service to traditions.

Actions will be more financially orientated. So unless fans vote with their feet, I think that this only continues in one direction.

I would bet that the board don't have any opinion on it.

They probably get told to condemn it by some combination of Police, S.P.F.L. officials and T.V.

The club cited the police and the S.P.F.L. as part of their justification in those minutes.

Doubling down on the board not having any opinion on it.

I never imagined that I would enjoy reading the minutes of this meeting.

It is exactly as predicted. The club let some fans complain for an afternoon then, quite correctly, completely ignore everything they had to sit through. In response they state an intention to act in the interests of the club. Interests of the club can be accurately translated as anything but the silly stuff proposed by the fans.

Some people need to learn the hard way. Some people never learn at all.

With the potential acquisition by the 49ers and their majority shareholder holding a significant 50% stake, a crucial opportunity arises to forge a unified vision for the club's future. Ideally, this new leadership can inspire the remaining 27.1% of individual shareholders to actively participate in reinvestment alongside the larger stakeholders.
Establishing a culture of shared responsibility is paramount. Every stakeholder, regardless of their share size, should understand their integral role in the club's growth and long-term success. The clear and consistent message must be that sustained commitment through reinvestment is expected from all.
For those whose primary focus is on extracting profit before the club achieves stability, they should be prepared to justify their position. If their investment priorities no longer align with the club's ambitions for sustained growth and success, perhaps a discussion about transferring their shares to entities like Club 1872 – an organization demonstrably committed to the club's best interests rather than purely profit-driven motives – would be appropriate. This would ensure that future profits, whether from player development or other ventures, are strategically reinvested in the club's long-term health rather than simply being directed to the highest bidder at the opportune moment for individual gain

The response to the email I sent.

Thanks for your email.

Appreciate your concerns about the possible takeover. As its something thats still in the possibility stakes its not something that is being freely discussed.

We do as a group have similar concerns stated and will address them. We hope to discuss them with the people involved and have requested to the club this happens when the time is right.

Thanks again,
Rangers FAB
