The Rangers Summer 2025 Transfer Rumours and Deals - Thread

In the 11 SPFL premiership games BF was in charge Rangers conceded 19 goals. It is imperative we recruit at least two CB’s during the summer who are an upgrade on what we’ve currently got.

We conceded 15 more than them, and scored 32 less than them. What cost us were our lack of firepower in all those sad draws, whereas they outgunned the opposition. And I bet the chances created / shots at goal are actually not that far behind.

Lyall Cameron scores again for Dundee today. Could be a useful signing next season for us

He has 14 goals and 9 assists in 41 games for Dundee. Most teams will have played a rather open game against them, which will not happen at Ibrox.

It's a good job these two are not in a position to make the decision.

No thanks.

Former Ibrox hero Paul Gascoigne thinks Rangers could be the perfect fit for Jamie Vardy as the 38-year-old striker prepares to leave Leicester City. (CasinoBeats via Daily Record)

Ally McCoist, who tried to bring Jamie Vardy to Ibrox in 2012, says: "I would take him in two minutes at Rangers, I really would" but reckons the veteran striker already has a move lined up. (talkSPORT via Ibrox News)

Back 5 in general just nowhere near good enough.

I think he will keep up that cadence when at us. I think he has the ability to open teams up and find spaces like Arfield did.

Better numbers than the older and more expensive McCowan who They snapped up.

Lyall Cameron is a common sense move.

We desperately need more goals throughout the team.

Regards the numbers comparison, Cameron played more than double the minutes that McCowan did. However, he did so in a team who were generally struggling and helped them score more goals than most of the other provincial clubs.

No doubt about that. IMHO, we had two good creative people in Cantwell and Hagi, able to split and/or unlock defences, as well as providing goals. Lawrence and Raskin can do that too, but (IMHO) lack the creative spark against tight defences. As soon as teams open up or actually want to play football, they are fine too.

So, I just noted that Cameron will come up against a different setup while playing for us.

Regarding Shankland, and right-winger Boyle (for a reasonable fee, one year left on his contract - 44 games, 20 goals, 11 assists), I'd take them both too. Our front line is far too thin, and we do need some powerhouses as well. Vardy ... IMHO, we SHOULD have kept Defoe, despite his age. He looked class and scored brilliant goals. I have not seen much of Vardy for the last 5 years, so can't really comment.
