Games like Bayern v Auckland perhaps might give us a hindsight that making the Champions League for League Champions only could ruin the early rounds. The champions of Armenia, Malta and Latvia etc taking on the Euro big boys would have similar results. I cant fully recall the European Cup format prior to 1992 - does anyone remember if there was a pre qualifying round or two for the minnows?? It's not free, either. Channel have done a deal with DAZN to show some games.
