So, Rooney and Maxi Rodriguez both get £2400 fines and 2 match bans. Given that their punishment was equal, can we assume then that their offences were equal? I'm not defending Rooney here but there was at least some doubt as to whether he did stamp deliberately or whether it was an accident. There can be no doubt that Rodriguez deserves what he got as he was throwing around punches.

I cant get my head round this, FIFA just move from one blunder to the next.

i assume u mean fifa and not uefa.

if fifa are to be taken seriously about trying to stamp out (unintentional Rooney pun) play acting/diving etc then they should be reviewing matches and dishing out retrospective yellow and red cards. that way players know that even if they get away with it on the pitch then they're gonna get it in the neck afther the match. i realise this would be hard to administer across the world but it would stop all this nonsense immediately.
