Rangers and Celtic must quit Scotland to have chance of success, warns Walter Smith

Recommended Posts

And another thing; Walter has recently been criticising the decision that you must have 2 U21's on the bench - so that means the likes of Fleck would get even less of a look in. That aside, you have to wonder exactly how it would be decided who was a reserve and who was a squad player. For example, how do we classify those out on loan but playing in other clubs' first teams e.g. Gow, Lennon, Furman? Would those players have to be branded 'SPL only' and actually barred from the Atlantic League?

I want to see this debate continuing because we have to come up with some solution - the status quo just is not acceptable.

Your making it too complicated guys. It would be like any other competition where you register players to take part. Any registered player is available for that league. Chances are with 2 leagues, UEFA may consider it two different teams so registered players could only play for the "a" side in the Atlantic league or the "b" side in the SPL.

Anyone know how it works in terms of players playing for Spanish B sides in their lower divisions?
