Then qualified for the CL and the supposed ‘pot of gold’ that comes with it only to not bring anyone else in much to Gio and the support’s frustrations. Board level? Well it’s been a litany of litigation failures, court loses, musical chairs in the board room, major shareholder fallouts. Fan group fallouts. Guys wanting to run a football club but not be seen as a public leader since King left. A rookie manager given free reign to waste an entire summer of funds on guys he signed on football manager 6 years ago with no overall strategy being defined by a then in place DOF who soon left but wasn’t replaced for quite some time. If clement was expecting something different I would ask of him and his agent, have you done your due diligence and research on this role? I always do before I take a job. It’s not quite the same thing but I’d argue just as important.

Pre season results mean nowt. Some managers purposefully won’t play the strongest team or the exact style they would play on opening day as it gives the opposition some intel to work off. Clement hasn’t played the strongest available XI in any of these games IMO you will see about 4/5 changes for next week. Ridvan, Balogun and Sterling (if fit) will start. Its just about fitness and experimenting.

Certainly a few questionable ones from him in the last few months. The 2 against them is something that needs fixed in the next games v them or it turns into a habit like tav falling asleep at the post.

It sounds from the outside like there is a few guys wanting to go. It’s up to the manager now to bring in his own guys and put his same demanding mentality into them. As has been said earlier in the thread we wanted most of these guys gone and looks like we will get it. I for one thing it’s the plaster that needed ripped off and will benefit us long term. Things do look off at the moment but it may just take time for a few new leaders on the park and at the training centre to emerge. I like the approach to recruitment so far so even if it takes a few windows I think we can build a better team the other side of this with Clement at the helm. PS have Belgium appointed a new manager yet?

Actually quite a sad fall from grace for us and them. In recent years we have both loaned players deemed not god enough for Benfica and we bought Feyenoords backup striker for a premium. We have lost out on targets to PSV and the likes of Tillman and sold our best player to Ajax. I know we’re were cannon fodder to the likes of the epl teams. But to see teams in thought of as equals like the Dutch big 3 and portugals big 3 buy and sell us really hits home where we sit in footballs pecking order. our TV deal (or lack of) is killing us and the real power brokers of the SPFL (Dermots minions and friends of) are happy to see it while the other mob remain on top. Food for thought.

Buying players from England and Italy you will need to pay them big wages as they are paid well. Bernardo will need to be paid well to leave Portugal and come to this back water. The answer to the spiraling wage bill problem is simple. Recruit from lower markets and when current players want big deals move them on.

Some of the biggest clubs in the world loan players, Man U done it past few seasons. Big teams in Italy loan each other players often. Its been part of football for decades which seems to have taken some time to reach Scotland. Other mob FC often loan players and they are supposedly 'cash rich'.
