  1. Suso and Sheridan's goals were almost identical in that McGregor was standing nowhere near the middle of the goal and if he had been, he should've saved both of them
  2. McGregor's non-stop greeting at the defence, his refusal to ever come for crosses, and his aimless punts upfield are starting to grate somewhat. He started the season very brightly but he has looked very unconvincing lately imo. Virtually every goal we concede, whilst not being blatant errors, i find myself thinking McGregor looked lacklustre there (specific examples being Dundee United's 3rd in the 3-3, Dundee United's winner in the replay, Suso's goal at Tynecastle, St Johnstone's 1st and 3rd goals)
  3. McLeish played a lot of different formations, the only successful one being the 4-3-3 of his first 18 months Lovenkrands was a revelation on the left or in the centre of a 4-3-3. Then McLeish decided to play him as a left winger in 4-4-2, making him track back etc. He was so bad we ended up letting him go on trial to Middlesbrough at the start of the 05/06 season Also, he abandoned the 4-3-3 immediately after our best midfielder (and player) Barry Ferguson left for Blackburn. This was totally mind boggling as we went from a midfield trio of Ferguson, Ricksen, Arteta to a 4-4-2 with Arteta partnering first Emerson, and then Stephen Hughes
  4. Personally i'd have no qualms about selling McGregor and having Alexander as number 1 with Tuffey as backup. A squad as lopsided as ours (especially after the expected summer departures) does not need a £5 million rated goalkeeper when his deputy is arguably just as good
  5. His performances for Birmingham beg the question; just why was he so ineffective and anonymous for Rangers last season? Ferguson and Mendes was an absolute shambles of a partnership yet he's looking outstanding with Lee Bowyer alongside him?
  6. So long as Kyle Lafferty isn't Boyd's replacement, i'd take anyone. Even Goodwillie.
  7. In a 2 team league, no fanbase will ever accept 2nd best because there's supposedly a long term plan in place. The PLG and Mowbray tenures have proven this. There would never be an exception. Against SPL dross, you should be able to play well and win almost every week.
  8. We're in a position now where results are all that matter, yes. Lets just get over the finish line and claim the title. But will i be buying this season's DVD? no thanks
  9. McLeish played 4-2-4 with 2 strikers as wingers (Lovenkrands and Arveladze) Lovenkrands was absolutely diabolical on the wing yet it took a mass injury crisis in 2005 before he got the chance to play up front
  10. Pathetic scaremongering. Absolutely no chance of CSKA or Lyon winning the Champions League
  11. It's not difficult to establish a proper midfield out of our players. Novo is a right winger as he has barely played more than 15 games as a striker in the last 4 years. Beasley is a left winger. Davis and Thomson/Edu are central midfielders. Our current team is so boring and the main reason is our slow, defensive-minded midfield
  12. McCormack has never stopped slagging off Rangers and saying how much he wants to play for Celtic I'd put him in the McGeady and Lennon bracket
  13. Liam Miller grew up a Celtic fan and left them as soon as he got the chance All i said was that Wilson doesn't have the emotional bond of being a Rangers fan, so it's less likely that he'll be 'desperate' to stay
  14. If i'm not mistaken, isn't Wilson a Celtic fan? I don't think there's any great emotional pull with him at Rangers and i could easily see him leaving
  15. Paul Lambert was universally praised for it yet he left after only 18 months to sign for a Celtic side who hadn't won the title in 10 years* *yes i know they fluked to victory at the end of that season
