No it wasn't childish. According to the RST's own statement, he gave two warnings earlier in the meeting, then walked out when "the SFA administration was (accused of) not (being) impartial". https://www.facebook.com/RangersSupportersTrust/posts/10151447795410191 The Clubs that make up the SFA may well not have been impartial but Regan is an employee who has to carry out their bidding and does not make any significant decisions. I have met Stewart Regan on a number of occasions; he is not easy to negotiate with but accusing his administration of lack of impartiality is not a course of action that was likely to win friends and influence people.

First of all "sectarian" doesn't come into it (for the simple reason that the SG couldn't define it); secondly as I have explained it has to be in relation to a regulated football match as defined; and thirdly it has to be expressing hatred of, or stirring up hatred against, a group of persons based on religion or: (a) colour, (b) race, © nationality (including citizenship), (d ) ethnic or national origins, (e) sexual orientation, (f) transgender identity, (g) disability. Lastly I agree with you that there are many more important things going on in the world but Police Scotland and the PF do not have the ability to influence them.

Possible Dates for the 3rd Semi-Annual Gersnet Dinner

You are correct on both counts. http://malagatapas.co.uk/ -
Correct or almost correct TB, see#12 qualified by #19. It can be prosecuted so long as it is "in relation to (a) regulated football match".

I will and was at one called Rioz in Myrtle Beach last month which was good but pricey; however as discussed previously, the plan was to be as close to Ibrox as possible. If we opt for the town then there are more than 1,000 options. If I recall city centre was felt to be a good option for a pub night but perhaps not for an after match dinner. -

Give us a break, GS, he's not even suited to be Chair never mind anything else. -
The police can be involved if the offence took place in relation to a "Regulated football match" football match which includes matches outside Scotland. This was one of the criticisms of the Act at the time but it was intended to catch misbehaviour at Scotland or European matches abroad which were thought to bring discredit on Scotland as a country. There were those who thought it was unenforceable. You may well be right in this case however, unless there was such a match taking place at the time of the offending comments.
-
Nothing to do with the police, I thought we were referring to the SFA. The SFA most certainly can charge the players with offensive comments and/or bringing the game into disrepute; whether that's advisable or not is another matter. I did say not many would be offended and defended their right to celebrate. BUT Club players singing what might be regarded as offensive songs about another Club MAY be in breach wherever the alleged offense occurs because they are always under the jurisdiction of the SFA.

It's a worthy gesture to be sure but the interest loss to them is negligible and there isn't much left other than Ibrox to take a legal charge over now is there, not their fault I know but even if there was anything available they couldn't take it after all that's been said, now could they? -
Let's make it 40 just to be safe.

Offensive comments cover much more than sectarian language.
-
They most certainly can in terms of the OBA. Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act 2012 2 Regulated football match: definition and meaning of behaviour “in relation to” match (1) In section 1 and this section, “regulated football match”— (a) has the same meaning as it has for the purposes of Chapter 1 (football banning orders) of Part 2 of the Police, Public Order and Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2006 (asp 10) (see section 55(2) of that Act), but (b) does not include a regulated football match outside Scotland unless the match involves— (i) a national team appointed to represent Scotland, or (ii) a team representing a club that is a member of a football association or league based in Scotland.

I agree with those comments, BD but didn't want to be seen to prejudge. Malaga tapas does have a lot going for it in terms of food, service, price and accommodation and the fact that they have done it successfully twice now; but I wanted to present choices if possible. -

Would probabaly need to be 7.30pm then rather than 5.30pm and we will most likely have a problem getting a restaurant to do it on a Saturday night unless they have private accommodation. Or hold it in Edinburgh which might suit some, again the problem is that we may not know for sure until the 2nd of May. This is not easy. -

Fair point MB but the problem is that if we finish second we will be away on that date. What we could do then is if we set on the 16th and it happens that we do finish second, we could hold the dinner on the Sunday if the game is on the Saturday and vice versa? -

I will try to come back to this next weekend with a poll for venue. Aside from Malaga Tapas, I know of the Sherbrooke Hotel (which will be expensive), Bellahouston Hotel, and googling have found The Balcony Cafe, Punjab Indian Restaurant, Bella Fresca all on PRW, House for an Art Lover on Dumbreck and Bella Vita on Mosspark Blvd. I'll investigate to see which if any could accommodate us. Please post any others and any you don't think should be considered. -

£10 million isn't going to be enough by a long way. -
I think the Hearts players can expect a letter pretty soon as well then.

Seems the SFA Compliance Officer may take a diferent view.

Received and replied to, hope I have been able to help.

The league table does not lie, regardless of the head to head encounters (and we should have had three sent off at Tynecastle), they have been miles better than us on and off the park. Let then enjoy their moment of glory, they deserve it as a team and as a club. Whilst I don't see any particular need for the profanity, as things go these days it is way down the scale of anything that could be regarded as offensive. I think most folk would regard it as fairly light hearted banter especially in a Hearts bar. However, I would not like to see Rangers players doing the same thing as it is far from respectful to the other Club. I first came across this "song" when some non-Scottish Rangers fans sang f*** you Celtic in Bratislava 2005 if memory serves me and I didn't like it then and don't like it now. I much prefer fans to sing FOR Rangers than against any other team; but that's just a personal opinion.

Hard to see how £1.5m replacing £5.0m will see us through till 31/12/2015, even with ST money coming up. The end of December would not be a good time to have to find £1.5m if the loan were still to be outstanding at that time. Could this be used to replace part or all of the first tranche of the £5m (even if it says "working capital")? Looks more like "good faith money" to me than any significant contribution to our ongong financial propblems. Or perhaps it's the amount we need to get us through till the ST money starts to come in. One assumes also (that unlike Hibs) Rangers will want to know what divison we are playing in before pricing the ST's.
