Maybe we should write a script? What I find quite laughable is that so many of the subs don't seem to have their strips on or their socks tied up etc. For some reason this seems to happen most often in the European away games (and when will the next one be?) and there actually was a game where a player, I think it was Novo, either didn't get on or got on just in time for the final whistle. No doubt Zappa will pinpoint the actual match. -

No, he uses the same sheet every week just rubs out the diagrams and starts again. BTW which bit of, your in left midfield son, is it some of them don't understand? or is it the equally complicated instructions that they have to pass on to others, like I'm on the left, you move over to the right that are causing the difficulty? -
Why does the club still have this huge £10m shortfall per season?
BrahimHemdani replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
"In short, the Rangers business is trading at a substantial loss and we have no alternative but to fill an approximate £4.5 million shortfall by the end of the season." As I understand it, Zappa, the Administrators are referring to the shortfall between now and the end of the season. "It is therefore imperative that we find savings of approximately £1 million per month to ensure the ongoing viability of the business." As the players' salaries are the biggest single expense at the Club, inded the only significant expense between now and the end of the season, any salary cuts would make a significant difference to the shortfall. Whyte's figures were for a whole season and did look roughly correct in the context of no European football. -
One thing I can tell you for certain is that both the Police and the Government will count it as major success if NO ONE is arrested under the new legislation this or any other Saturday. That said Police around the country have been briefed by the FoCUS Unit and every identifiable fan's group i.e. Trusts and Supporters' Associations has been invited to attend meetings with senior officers from the Police FoCUS Unit over the past two weeks; so there is no excuse on either side for anyone not to know what is acceptable and what is not. The Police will not give a list of acceptable songs but they will respond to any group asking if a particular song is acceptable or not.

Do we REALLY need Durrant AND McDowall, sorry just being realistic. -

Several years ago I was at a meeting at Ibrox and asked SDM why we couldn't blood more youngsters in the same way as Stuttgart built a championship winning team in Germany. His answer was that the fans would not wear the 2/3seasons it would take without success to build a winning team from the youths. Well, now (very regrettably) seems like the time to do it. A nucleus of experience in the form of McGregor, Bocanegra, Goian (hopefully), Wallace (would that it were Papac but seems unlikely) Davis, Edu and McCulloch, with younger players like Cole, Perry, Hutton, Ness (if fit) Little, Hemmings, Wylde etc looks like the way forward to me. -

I intend to ensure that the FSA investigate the whole bloody lot of them. Maybe, just maybe, this will be one time that they are not caught with their knickers round their ankles. -

Whatever you mean, I am sure you can find a way to express your concerns about the story in a less offensive way. Two of our first team players are of Nigerian descent. -

Andrew Smith is a reporter who has a probing mind and does not just accept what he is told. sounds entirely plausible to me. -

I wonder if there is any connection between that £250k and the similar amount Whyte apparently raised from selling the Arsenal shares? I am an IFA and I have never once advised a client to buy a Structured Product which are investment vehicles that use a variety of so called "derivatives" in a bid to make money in both rising (bull) markets and falling (bear) markets; a bit like gambling on your team wining and losing at the same time and playing the odds to make money. They have come under increasing scrutiny recently with some high profile funds failing to deliver. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ABOVE IS NOT INTENDED AS INVESTMENT ADVICE! -
Sounds real enough to me.

That is extremely kind of you Pete, sorry but I only saw this now. What is the going rate for a best seller? -
Oh and McCulloch; can we really afford to lose him right now?
-
A very fair summation in my view. I agree with you on candidates for release: Alexander (certainty, can't afford two high priced G/k's); Papac (very unfortunately in my view); Bartley [injured as well] (already got his train ticket); Healy (definitely); Bedoya (didn't live up to his billing). £40-50k/week total? £2.0-2.5M/year? The ones I'm not sure about are Celik who hasn't really had a chance and Broadfoot, who might just be our best RB.

Notice of Appointment to Season Ticket and Debenture Holders
BrahimHemdani replied to BrahimHemdani's topic in Rangers Chat
As the OP, who gave up smoking at age 10, feel free; but honestly I already commented that it had gone a bit astray and Zappa held up his hand to that! Probably that means that my original intention to highlight the the Administrators' letter for the benefit of non season ticket holders and the timescale that they are working to, wasn't very interesting. -

Mine too (out of the frying pan...., springs to mind).

Jim McColl was the "Mr Big" client of solicitors who was going to underwrite the RST bid in 2010. But when he took the RST plan to the bank, they showed it to SDM (or so the story goes) and he called his hack Traynor who promply blew it out the water and McColl ran for cover. I am told that he not in the least bit interested in buying Rangers (he certainly was not interested in having a public role back then and given what's happened since can't see him being any more enthusiastic now) but that could all be a smokescreen and I will make more enquiries. There was bad blood between him and SDM so with SDM off the scene? there might be a way back for him.

No I don't think they do either. Last I heard Smillie was prepared to put in about £1-2M but I doubt DP has that amount of spare cash (but he is in cahoots with King). As you suggest it would take 3-4 in the £10M+ category, hard to see where they are coming from.
