I don't think that would be very difficult but at least Walter probably pays his bills.

£6M (before tax, unless he has an EBT too)!

I was in Lyon, one of the best night so my life, well at least my football life! Not just his goal but his pass from the half way line for Beasley to score the third. I always regretted not taking a pcture of the scoreboard at 3-0. But his disciplinary record was poor and he let us down so badly in Florence. However, IF and it's a big IF he could reproduce any of that kind form even for 60 mins a game I would have him but as others are saying it's a sad commentary..........

Simple things like playing right footed players on the right and left footed players on the left might be a good place to start. Also as Gribz says not playing a centre half/left back in LMF would be another; and another CH at RB. These things are fine in moderation when a team is confident and playing well but our team is neither right now. How about practising free kicks and corners at training. No evidence at all that that is happening. When was the last time we tried anything other than a direct shot at goal from a free kick or even a corner to the near post for a header on; it's not rocket science. And speaking of training, would the odd afternoon session be worthwhile or would that be a breach of contract. No one can tell me that our players are as fit as Barcelona and why shouldn't they be.

Indeed you did, Sir, I was just working my way through the posts. Is not the more important point here that if we have spent 70% or whatever of the next three season's ticket money on this year's expenditure, how are we going to finance the next three year's expenditure unless we keep rolling over or extending the debt further into the future; and isn't that a recipe for financial armageddon? BTW I don't belive that's what has happeened at all, as BD has clearly demonstrated there was more than enough in the kitty for running expenses IF Mr Whyte had put up the money stated in the circular and not used the Ticketus money effectively to buy the Club.

Darrell King - Questions That Need Answered
BrahimHemdani replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
. I'm told it was more like £1.3m, £400K of which was immediately arrested by the Court re Bain's case. £3.5M was arrested by the taxman at about the same time. -
Try this: £6M was going to Murray for his shares, which he gave up on because we needed it for working capital; £18M (a familiar figure) to pay off LBG. Not so much a case of 2+2=4; more like 6+18=24. Shades or Liverpool and Manchester Utd on a much smaller scale perhaps?

Yes he did, 90 days.

A not unreasonable assumption, one might think.

I know that of course, I was just being a bit facetious Zappa, but from what I know of you on here, I couldn't believe that you were seriously suggesting that the Beeb were in any way linked to the result of the tax case just because they and the HMRC are both Government bodies (although that isn't really true of the BBC in any event). Perhaps, I misunderstood your point. If so I apologise. -
Novo on the right and Aluko on the left, Miller through the middle, nice thought; Ally would probably swap them around, of course.
-
I'm going to predict right now that if we do win the case (first of all the Revenue will appeal) Mr Whyte will find a way to go back on the deal to waive the debt. I stress that this is a personal opinion, I don't have any evidence for this it's just the impression I get from all his dealings that have ben revealed over the past 7/8 months.

No, but he met the Assembly people on Sunday before the match: Messrs Kerr, Dingwall and Montgomery were in the Directors Box. -

He has to earn respect, he doesn't deserve it automatically because he is the owner of Rangers FC. I find your analogies quite reprehensible. They are entitled to pose the question "Is he a fit and proper person" (within the meaning of the SFA Rules) to be the owner of Rangers. Rangers are a Scottish Institution and their ownership is a matter of public interest. -

That's a bit far fetched Zappa, the BBC as an agent of HMRC, come on now. -
Apparently he went to Dunfermline for more money?

As has been said, hasn't played for months, but I'm sure Ally would have been under pressure to play him, given present circumstances. Asking a new player to play out of position doesn't exactly help either. I know this is like an old record but time we we decided on Papac or Wallace at LB and let one of our left footed MF's (Aluko, Celik, McKay, Wylde) play wide left.

This is the full text of the press release. Thanks to all who responded and passed on the word. Call for bigger leagues and a new voice of the fans Supporters Direct Scotland has published the results of the Scottish Football Supporters Survey 2011 with a clear view that fans want: bigger Scottish football leagues, especially in the SPL a wider distribution of income and increased competition a national fans organisation to give them a greater say at national level a football season to reflect our climate and to make it more fan-friendly Commenting on the overall results, Supporters Direct Scotlandâ??s Council chair, Alan Harris said: â??Scottish football fans have spoken loud and clear: the time has come to listen to our views and work towards consensus for the future direction of the game. For the second year running, the biggest survey of fans is telling us: Scottish football needs larger leagues, a fairer distribution of TV revenues and the creation of one voice for football fans to represent them.â? On bigger leagues 9 out 10 fans want a league larger than the current set up. Three quarters of fans want a 16 or 18 team league with nearly half of all respondents preferring a 16 team league set up. 81% of Old Firm fans support a league bigger than current set up Even when it was explained that the SPL justifies smaller leagues so that there at least 4 Old Firm matches per season, respondents remained solid in their support for larger leagues with a 16 team set up the preferred option of 45% of fans (compared to 49% before mention of TV revenues). Commenting on these statistics, SDS Council Chair Alan Harris stated: â??Fans from across the length and breadth of Scotland are clearly speaking with one voice when it comes to the future shape of football leagues. Support for the status quo or an even smaller SPL is dwarfed by the overwhelming desire of supporters for larger leagues. I hope the SPL and SFL will think long and hard about the views of fans and sit down to build a consensus for the future of league football in Scotland. Fairer distribution drives competition, leads to increased attendance Two-thirds of fans stated that they would attend more regularly if there was more competition Greater sharing of central revenue is likely to increase competition according to 83% of respondents. Alan Harris added: â??Fans are well aware of the commercial motives of SPL restructuring but remain largely unconvinced by the SPLâ??s arguments. Fans are telling us that a more equal distribution of TV revenues is good for the game, and in the longer term, more likely to bring fans back to the terraces.â? On supporter representation Scottish football supporters are almost unanimous in their views when it comes to their belief that fans should be consulted on decisions to be taken about Scottish football. Four out of five Scottish football fans want a national football supportersâ?? organisation, like the proposed new Scottish Football Supporters Network, to represent their views to Governments, football authorities and within wider civic Scotland. More than half of respondents want supporter representation on SPL/SFL and SFA committees More than a third of respondents want supporter representation in the media, speaking up for fans first and foremost Nearly four out of five fans want supporter representation on football club boards The top three priorities for the SFSN are: representing supportersâ?? views to Government and football authorities; campaigning for improved rights for fans; and campaigning for better facilities at matches Commenting on the strong support for a united â??voice of the fansâ??, Alan Harris stated: â??As someone who has long-held the view that there should be greater supporter involvement in club football, I am not surprised that there is strong demand for the new Scottish Football Supporters Network to speak up for football fans in Scotland, regardless of what team you support. When it comes to some of the great issues of the day, football fans of all colours have more in common than that with which they disagree. Itâ??s time for supporters to unite as one voice of the fans so that governments and football authorities sit up and take notice. Supporters Direct Scotland is delighted to be in a position to lead the development of the Scottish Football Supporters Network knowing that we have the support of the vast majority of fans. â??We are ready to launch the Scottish Football Supporters Network and build on the work that Supporters Direct Scotland has already done, for example at meetings of the Joint Action Group, on behalf of ordinary football fans everywhere. With a sense of priorities from supporters, we can move forward to represent and campaign on the issues that matter for football fans. This is an exciting development for Scottish football and I know we all look forward to making the SFSN a huge success.â? On season starts and winter closedown Supporters have reinforced in the survey that the traditional football season is ripe for change: Support for an earlier start to the season is 3 to 1 in favour of change Nearly two-thirds of fans support a winter break A clear majority of fans favour shifting the season to summer months with less than a third directly opposed to a season from e.g. March to November Alan Harris commented on the figures, saying: â??Whatever way you look at the season structures, the vast majority of fans are looking for change. Itâ??s time for Scottish football to recognise this and put the fans first. A season with an earlier league start in July and a Winter break could bring out more supporters.â? Key Facts about the survey responses: a. Of the 49% of respondents who are members of supportersâ?? organisations, just over half are members of Supporters Trusts, and 51% of respondents were not members of a supportersâ?? organisation. b. Team supported by league: SPL (61%), SFL1 (21%), SFL2 (7%), SFL3 (3.5%) Non-League (7.5%) c. Attendance: 1-10 games (22%), More than 10 games (66%), Not been to a game (12%) d. Season ticket holders 44%, non-season ticket holders 56%

Only if the company was negligible i.e. if Waitrose knew or could reasonably be expected to have known that milk had been spilled in the milk aisle and didn't get it cleaned up, then they would be liable.

I am in no doubt that Rangers would have had tax lawyers and accountants professional opinion to the effect that the scheme was in use by many other clubs and considered an effective means of tax avoidance, which is of course legal; but that, as we all know does not mean that it is not open to challenge. If Rangers did not have such advice or proceeded against such advice then that is another matter.

As a "business opportunity" exactly the same as Ellis saw it, or more correctly had it put to him.
