I tried to be impartial and mix it up a bit. The choices of centre halves is unreal. Campbell, Terry, Miller, Ferdinand, Hendry to name a few from my era. Keeper is interesting. Shilton is a record cap holder but Id have Leighton or Goram ahead of him, they were better shot stoppers. But apart from Shilton, Seaman is the only quality keeper Ive seen in an England shirt. Since Seaman retired they have had a few bombscares - James, Robinson, Green, Hart. Why Hart starts now is baffling, Forster is clearly a better keeper.

So who has all officially signed over the doted line? Im losing count! -
Seaman is an interesting pick! Certainly a world class keeper but Leighton and Goram were probably better for me. But He was the best English keeper Ive seen - ahead of Shilton. Obviously a generation thing which is great. Im a tad too young to have Souness and Dalglish. I remember them but would be fake putting them in based on other opinions. For me, Id have to switch to a 3-5-2 as the centre half options are incredible. Goram McLeish Gough Adams Lambert Gerrard Gascoigne Scholes Cooper Shearer Rooney

To be honest you do forget they are Celtic players during games like that. Dont think we would have scored from open play if we played another 90 minutes but it was two worldly free kicks but the lack of concentration after that showed the lack of quality. Amazing how one minute you would take a own goal to get a draw then a few minutes later it feels like a defeat. Its by far the worst England team since Ive been watching football, them getting beat in the last two tournaments isnt such a surprise now. They will still get through this group by being ugly but as soon as they come up against good opposition they will be beat easily. Poor keeper, defence and midfield. And manager!

I think its confirmed we wont be at the world cup. Even if Scotland win the last 4 games Id probably think we will be worst runner up.
-
What a waste. Couldnt defend for toffee.

Gordon with a double screw up. He should have dealt with the original back pass then the finish was weak. If ever there was a chance to beat England. Strachan should have went a few games ago.

If we get 800k for Garner then its fine. Alves is obviously the best signing but Dorrans would be good. He is a quality player. Very underrated. -

Yeah, possibly keep as a squad player and given another chance. Although he will be down in the pecking order if Dorrans signs and Krancjar is fit. Dorrans, Jack, Kranjcar and Pena is a good looking midfield and not even mentioning the wingers who are joining. -

Thats a big overhaul. But it will be interesting to hear opinions if anyone would like to keep hold of any of these players. For me they can all go. Waghorn is a player I quite like but had a tricky season and didnt get the goals needed. Windass plays like a steam train but disappears more often than not. I admire his drive when he does try but does he have the quality? -
I think a lot of fans from the big teams would rather be playing Rangers or Celtic than the likes of Burnley and Hull. But its the other 14 sides who could see their place disappearing who wouldn't want this move. Then there Championship and League 1 sides wouldn't go for it as they would request we are taking their potential slots and that we should start at the bottom tier - which I wouldn't have an issue with.

Chelsea would prefer him to get first team action but outwith the Premier League. Id imagine Monaco and Seville are the most likely options. -
Alves is a tank! Ronaldo is known for his condition but Alves size stands out. I'll be tipping him for at least 8 goals coming up for corners. Not sure which chant I like best for him Bruuunooo or Alves (like we had for Albertz).
-
He cant ask for a better tutor next to him in a compatriot who has got 87 caps. Ive no problem at the moment if these guys come in with big ambitions to step up in the future, it means they will be putting in top performances and generate us big fees which we need to assist getting back to where we belong.

Totally get they have to go walk the walk but after years of signing poor players in a team under Ally which wasn't pleasing on the eye we are now bringing in players again who should fit the system and its going to be interesting hence exciting. Don't get me wrong - after the last OF game I even wondered about Pedro and that was going by what I seen two weeks in a row versus Celtic so if these players are awful I will be the first to say it. The part I mentioned about Dalcio was that I was looking forward to an exciting winger again - a position where we have had sheer class but recently been poor. McKay isn't an out and out winger, O Hallaran hasn't cut the mustard and Templeton was a failure so Im hoping this kid can be electric.
-
To be fair to Dodoo he hasn't been given a real chance of say 6-8 run of games. Flashes of class at Firhill and Pittodrie say he should have had more pitch time.
-
There is nothing wrong with talking up a signing at all and getting positive after how many years dealing with the likes of Kyle. Jeez no pleasing some!
-
And how have Scotland picked up since he came back. A 3-0 thumping at Wembley and a last minute winner by Chris Martin against Slovenia. Butcher

Looks a proper out and out centre forward to can score all sorts of goals. Shows there is a good chance in finding unearthed gem players out there. -
Terry Butcher on Broon. And this is why Im delighted Butcher never got a chance to manage Rangers. Brown and Scholes in the same sentence is embarrassing. Scholes a truly world class player...end of. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/40171605

These games just don't raise the interest or excitement anymore at all. Probably by Saturday I will be looking forward to watching it a bit. But going back to last November at Wembley I didn't even bother switching it on until I woke up at half time as I expected a humping. With it being at Hampden there is a half chance it will be a close game. Going back to Euro 1996 I remember getting excited 6 months before when the draw was made. And the Euro 2000 qualifier had everyone looking forward to it at the time. It probably used to be the equivalent of Aston Villa v Man Utd but has dropped a lot and now is the equivalent of Swansea v Everton. In World levels its more like Notts Forest v Everton - A team who used to produce good players but now down many levels against a team who are the best of the rest but cant break into the elite. Looking at the England squad Hart in goal has an error in him all day long. their centre halfs are as poor as Ive seen - Cahill (decent), Stones (hasn't stepped up), Jones (Has stole Darren Anderton sick note title), Smalling (massively over rated) so they could be got at. In the middle of the park - Dier is OK but nothing special and that's all they have defensively. Jake Livermore would probably be the same level as what Scotland have now. The rest are all attack minded - Lingard (decent), Ox-Chamberlain (I rate highly), Lallana (over rated), Sterling (can win a match on this day), Dele Alli (the one to watch - bin him in the first minute and he could get himself sent off). Upfront is where they could do damage - not only do they have goalscorers in Kane, Rashford and Defoe, they are up against a shocking Scotland back line. I need to go back to the squad list to even remember who we have in defence. Where as in the past since I started watching Scotland we had worldly defenders in McLeish, Gough, Hendry, Weir......
-
Hampden could be downsized to a 35000 stadium for cup semi finals that don't include Rangers or Celtic plus Scotland matches against lower opposition. Juventus have shown going from a huge 60000 seater stadium to a 41000 has generated a mass atmosphere. Scotland games moved around the country like Spain do. But Ive always liked the idea of big games at Murrayfield.

Dalcio for some reason is the most exciting signing. About time we had an exciting winger again.
