Far from it. I thought MW recruited well all summer but don't see him fitting in. Granted only a match and a half.
-
Quite good to see Jose on the losing side again. Big statement from City. Arsenal were jammy, 94th min penalty which was soft. Spurs look to have clicked, absolute thumping Stoke.
-
Agreed Craig and I think 4-1-4-1 may suit us. Unfortunately Barton hasn't adapted to the fast pace of this league - that's by no means his fault, he is used to more time on the ball, its as much a reflection on the way our game is poor. Id like to see Waghorn on the inside right, Forrester and Holt in the centre with Windass on the inside left. With Rossiter holding. Its good to have options there though. Our defence is a concern. We have 2 good full backs but centre half is looking very weak.
-
Come on Kranjcar isn't that fast Miller and Garner are both centre forwards / No.9s so unless its a 4-4-2 they wont work together. Its still early in Garner's days but Im not sure what he can bring when we are a passing side. Windass energy will be good in most games, this was his debut so he isn't even 100% yet. It would be good to see him in the same team as Forrester and Holt with Rossiter holding.

I think the set up of the team has something to do with it as well Coop. MW hasn't found the right blend so far. This season was always going to be about settling into the top flight again and making progress. Better Rangers teams have had similar results against them so it can be put down as a one off. Where it will get scary is if we went to Pittodrie and Tynecastle and got those results, I would be worrying then. I think its back to the drawing board for MW with picking the team. Waghorn being back is a help and Windass should start again.
-
MW got it wrong today - first time Ive said that. Having Miller and Garner together was a non starter. And they looked fitter and faster than us all over the park. It looked like some of the awful days under McLeish there. Kranjcar looks finished. He can pass a ball but cant run, he looks like he is playing exhibition matches. Garner looks a waste of money, not a MW type of player at all. Windass looks a player.
-
I like the Windass inclusion... Kranjcar though? He looks stale and cant run...we will need bodies moving in this game. Garner - Cant see how he and Miller can play together unless its 4-4-2
-
Wow...Windass, Kranjcar and Garner....MW is going for it
-
Maybe just a coincidence....yes absolutely...Get into them...So long as we don't freeze all will be good. A lot of debutants today. Cant believe I cant get a bet on...Singapore firewalled off betting sites and they only do the English games betting locally.

Haha did this balloon really say that. -
Ive been up for 8 hours doing the bouncy. BTW where does the eh come from?? Ive always just said Cmon Rangers but noticed others also put eh in.

Do you think the globalist fat cats care about what you feel on match day? My only surprise is it not happening by now. But its totalitarian...step by step is the ICC in every country, as per opening post Chelsea v Real in the US. They will be playing weekly in the next decade. Why do you think Beckham has pumped so much money into the MLS??? For a hobby??? Of course not...his team will be playing Man Utd and Barca.

Cheers Ian...I did have Michael Jackson and REM tunes randomly on.....

If he can give us an hour he still has to play. I didn't even think of Windass earlier, he could be brought on to give them troubles. We have good attacking options, its all about getting it right in midfield - something we have struggled thus far. -

Don't think we can play 2 out and out centre forwards in Miller and garner. Waghorn has to play if fit. The midfield is interesting though, its 3 from 6. Rossiter and Kranjcar will be considered but id have Halliday in for this game and Forrester. -
Its coming. Globalisation will merge all teams. I have said for years the MLS teams want a part of the pie from playing European clubs...and with the money China is pumping in right now means they are coming to the table. 5-10 years will see a Global league.

Oooff that's a brutal defence. How Konterman was a player I will never know. Amoruso was a bomb scare. Vidmar was half decent, he scored a peach against Parma IIRC. Ricksen was played in midfield too much when he was a RB. -
If Aguero was playing Id take a flutter on that but Jose knows how to not lose.
-
The TV money men got this wrong playing it as the same time as the OF. What a boob that was. But this will be interesting for the jose v Pep thing alone, they clearly don't like each other. Aguero is a massive miss for City and that's the game changer. I'll be have a wee flutter on draw half time draw full time.

Ive got the beers flowing already....A tad early??? Nah. Yet it is a 7pm kick off for me I think MW can oust Rodgers. All the pressure is on Celtic being the home team. It may be the one time where Halliday, Barton and Rossiter all fit into the same team but that's defensive. Foderingham Tav Senderos Wilson Wallace Barton Halliday Forrester Waghorn McKay Miller -
MW - Man love.

Rangers can stun Celtic just like I did, says Peter Lovenkrands

He was a player!! I rated him. He didn't like a tackle but he would be straight into the team in this day. -
Celtic 'recruited better than Rangers', says Murdo MacLeod

Yep that's pretty much what I was getting at. Well said (you aren't the real JFK are you? who was NOT taken out by LHW? - another thread) Maybe Hearts last season can be looked as a decent success after coming up but at the end of the day they are Hearts and should be punching above the teams below them.
