For some reason, I do think that Miller's just a nice smoke screen to keep the press happy. Ally hasn't talked to him or Bursa just yet, but is working all week on various transfers (it seems). I can see using Miller - who he may not rule out either - to get the press haring off to to Turkey et al for info, while he can concentrate on the issues at hand.

Unless I am mistaken, he does not have an agent. Ally spoke to his parents. Rangers are quite keen to sign him up again, but apparently have a certain structure in terms of ability and wages. The word is (from some people with inside knowledge on FF) that he's been offered 3 years at 800 pound a week, which is what he gets these days. He's keen on some increase, as Ness and Fleck earn 1,5k a week. IMHO, just under 40k a year for a 19-year old ain't that bad ... and I do assume that if he hits the ground running again, he will sure get a better contract cometh the time ...

I for one would not touch Goodwillie until his cases are cleared. We could force their hand with a Miller link, but why sign someone who could be "barred" from football for the forseeable future. No need to gamble with our money, Goodwillie's still very young. Miller? If he's fit and ready, why not give the "Scourge of Celtic" another try? He sure knows how to put the SPL teams to the sword. Fitness and injury are the main concerns here. (I do believe that he will gladly sign up for a couple of years at 15 to 20k a week.) A lot of quote up in the article, found that bit about 6 or 7 people being considered quite interesting a read.

Matter of fact, ifyou listen to Rangers World's commentaries, you do get a pretty level headed view from the Rangers Media folk. Not Tom Miller that is, but the co-comentators who are Dickson, Herron and Co.. They tell you bits and pieces which happen at Ibrox or Murray Park and since there are actually some quotes involved here, I do assume they know why they post that on the OP. All that said, neither they nor the press nor Ally can do anything about targets eventually moving to another side, if at all.

In an interview with Mark Bensteadt (STV), Andy Little has said he would be keen to go on loan. According to the interviewer's twitter. Perhaps to get match practise and a few games? Can't see him being a first team choice for the time being. @ Danny and Jedinak: we hardly have a clue whether we wanted him. Someone uttered that we looked at him (because he's a freebie) and as soon as he's signed for someone else, it is US who lost out. There are a dozen odd reasons why people sign for this team or that. It could well be that half of Europe were after him and they also lost out to Palace. How would we know?

re the Belgian chap ... need to check. Not a high level BL team nor a grand Belgium team either. I only remember it for the apparent "stupidity" in such a deal. EDIT: Dorge Kouemaha from CF Br�¼gge (Brugges) to Kaiserslautern. He's a Cameroon international striker.

There are a lort of strange things happening in the world of football. Methinks recently a Belgium team loaned their top scorer of last season to a Bundesliga team and you would ask, why would they not sell him and replace him? Loaning the most valuable player is bordering to the ridiculous. To some teams 500k means life / survival, of course. As with Ortiz though, I would not get hyped up until I see him arrive at Ibrox or Murray Park, pen in hand.

So there is a lot of panic-mongering about, is there not? Let's have a look at what we have right now then ... Bold folk would be nigh certain starters, italiced people would always be ready to come in and play, or be starters too, pending on the game at hand. This is a basic 4-4-2. McGregor Alexander Adam Whittaker -- Bougherra -- Weir -- Papac Cole -- McMillan -- x x x x -- Broadfoot Ortiz -- Davis -- McCulloch -- Naismith Little -- Edu -- Ness -- Wylde x x x -- Hutton -- Fleck -- Kerkar Jelavic -- Lafferty Beattie -- Healy Hemmings -- x x x x Quite a few of them like Whittaker, Broadfoot, Edu, Ortiz, Little and Naismith can play in a variety of positions. Some would not be in my starting eleven (e.g. McCulloch), but that is not the point here. IMHO, people hoping for half a dozen more players should think again. We do need to add some quality and flair, but the base squad for at least the start of the SPL is there. That said, I wouldn't mind a half a dozen new faces either ...

Noted on Facebook that the RST put a snipped from the Daily Star on which says that we may get another couple of players over the weekend. Anyone got that copy and knows whom they are talking about?

I'd take Riordan and/or Charlie (sic!) Miller ahead of McFadden, TBH.

If you'd ask me, I'd take both. If I had a choice right now, given the court cases hanging over Goodwillie and his manager/chairman being a touch too "unsensitive", I'd take Murphy now (especially at that price) and look at Goodwillie in January or next summer - should he stay at United. Cardiff have signed Earnshaw, so they might not be that keen any longer and have their debts trouble too.

Yes! My first unsung hero / Rangers great! Still have a couple of Rangers - McEwan's Lager - jerseys with his No. 3 on the back. Matter of fact, we always had some solid if unspectacular fullbacks, Robertson, Wright, even Clelland spring to mind.

Of course, it needs a certain amount of backtracking, but when you have wingbacks-come-wingers, something like this should work against St. Mirren or the like ... e.g. McGregor Bougherra - Weir - Papac Ortiz - Davis - Ness - Naismith - Wylde Lafferty - Jelavic

Well, we still have to wait and see, of course ... McGregor Whittaker - Bougherra - Weir/CB - Papac Ortiz - Davis - Naismith - Wylde/Kerkar Jelavic - Lafferty ... with a lot to switch and change. Remember that we will not play that style (4-4-2) against each and every opponent. I would rule out midfield enforcers like Ness, McCulloch or Edu and something like 4-5-1 or a more attack-minded 3-5-2 at home against the likes of St.Mirren.

That was me. BTW, the latest known about his that the Chinese were interested, nothing cast into stone as yet. German sources also claimed that Eskisehirspor where after him.

Good to see that we finally get a right-midfielder, so we won't send Davis out there. Maybe he can also cover for Whittaker, so it looks that Foster might have to endure the vile banter of the Aberdeen support for some time to come. Then again, one never knows ... -

There's a not so strong rumour on FF about a young Spaniard being shown around Ibrox and Murray Park as we write. Thread has since been chopped, but some more credible posters wrote about it. So one never knows what is actually happening behind the scenes. -
Touch of overreaction, IMHO. Basically he's saying that we won't splash 4m on one player like Walter did last season, while we are in dire need of strength in depth. For we have Jelavic now and cannot risk signing another big gun who might be out for half of a season and we need to start playing fringe players. (That said, if we'd done it like any other club in the SPL and rotate the squad regularly, the "fringe" players may actually show their true abilities and bypass one of the old campaigners, people who think theyy have a right to get every start and then do not show up on the park as they should do.) Essentially, we are still very much in transition and have to rebuild our squad for the time being. CL money will come in from last season, hopefully we get another whip at the silver pot this time around too. Then the future will eventually brighten up further. And while many on here may not want to hear it, we need to build a team to challenge for the title again, solid SPL-able folk who may be groomed into something greater later on. Europe is (and always has been) a bonus.
