If they get all the Leagues right and the TV/Advertising/Sponsorship is enough to keep the teams happy nobody will be calling for a Euro League, all the middle of the road leagues want is a chance to compete with the big guys on a fairly level playing field. If they get that the call for a Euro league will die off, the CL was started to quick a Euro League at bay who long has that been going.

It will hasten the moves of the Balkan league maybe a Beneliga, Russia/Ukraine league, a Scandinavian league. UEFA will eventually allow these close countries to merge to hold the calls for a full blown Euro League, and it will work if done properly for a couple of decades then you may see a full blown Euro league. I would hope by that time we are at a level to be a major part of that set up.

To be fair that's the same in a league of any size if its tight at the top and bottom, by the very nature of a league you are going to get meaningless games towards the end of a season if your team is mid table and out of the cups. A perfect chance to give young players a run out and valuable experience with nothing at stake, instead we seem to be pushing for a system where every game is do or die and the teams are living in a state of fear and no young blood is getting a chance.

A full blown Euro league is at least 10 years maybe a lot longer away we will have time.

If he had at least got a couple of games in the first team under his belt and wasn't up to it fair enough, but to sign the guy then never give him a chance or even a sniff just to punt him in January, smells like a manager who panicked a little and just bought to get faces in the door. Agree with the above posts larger leagues no bloody splits and playoffs for promotion relegation, give away teams 10% of the home gate and let them keep the money they make on away ticket sales when they come to Rangers and Celtic spread the wealth a bit give teams some breathing space without it being a relegation battle every year.
