SADL RSC Just like to thank all the members who took the time to respond re the club funds / share issue, and to those who pledged some of their own hard earned cash!! We will be buying (well we've applied for) a £500 lot direct from Rangers so we get our own official certificate, then members have pledged £850 to the RST share scheme route, with the RSC's add on it means we will be putting in £1875!! Its amazing how quickly comparitively small pledges add up. A great effort - many thanks from the committee - WATP Are any other RSCs doing this? pledges from £25 -
European clubs body downgrades Rangers' status but recognises history STV 14 December 2012 15:07 GMT FacebookTweetGoogle Rangers are founder members of the European Club Association.© SNS Group The European Club Association has confirmed that Rangers remain as members of the organisation but that their status has been downgraded following the transfer of ownership. Following administration and the subsequent transfer of assets to a newco owned by Charles Greenâ??s consortium, Rangers lost their place in the Scottish Premier League and were later admitted to the third tier of the Scottish Football League. The ECA is the sole independent body recognised by UEFA and FIFA as representing clubs at European level. Ordinary members of the group are required to be playing in their domestic top division and be licensed to play European football. Rangers do not hold a UEFA club licence as a result of a break in their accounts and, having lost their top-flight status, are no longer ordinary members of the ECA, the organisation confirmed. "Rangers FC held ordinary membership with the ECA before entering into administration and later into liquidation," an ECA spokesperson confirmed to STV. "Meanwhile Rangers FC, owned by the Rangers Football Club Plc, transferred all its assets, including its goodwill, to Sevco Ltd (Sevco Ltd later changing its name to the Rangers Football Club Ltd) "Alike at Scottish FA level, this 'new entity' had to re-apply for membership with ECA as according to Swiss law, membership of an association is neither heritable nor transferable (article 70.3 of the Swiss Civil Code). "In dealing with these re-application, ECA applied the terms and provisions of our membership policy and statutes. "According to the prerequisites set out in the membership policy, Rangers FC did not meet the requirements to be granted ordinary membership (top division and European licence). However, Rangers are permitted to hold associate membership, which holds no voting rights, as they are one of the founder members of the ECA. The organisation considers the clubâ??s history to be continuous regardless of the change of company. "With regards to associated membership, the membership policy states amongst others that founding members are granted automatic membership," the spokesperson explained. "Taking into account that the 'new entity' also acquired the goodwill of the 'old entity', it was held by the ECA executive board that the goodwill, taking into account legal and practical arguments, also included the history of the 'old company'. "Consequently it was concluded that Rangers FC was entitled to associated membership of ECA as considerer to be a founding member."

Those of us who attended the Rangers AGM in 2009 will remember, for the first time in my lifetime, a majority of shareholders voting against a motion proposed by the Rangers board. It was whether Donald Muir should continue in his role on the Rangers board. There was a slight buzz around the AGM as those officiating scurried around to find additional voting cards as a vote was more likely in North Korea than at a Rangers AGM. A show of hands was nigh on unanimously against re-electing Donald Muir and the paper vote was the same. Then the Murray International representative (I cant remember who) placed his vote and the motion was passed and Donald Muir resumed his role on the Rangers board. Nobody reading this will need to be told what has happened to our club since. But looking back through the past 2 years what was the turning point where things really started to go wrong? It was Murray, under huge pressure from Lloyds bank, selling the club to Craig Whyte for £1 despite being warned by other board members through an independent report he was not fit and proper person to own our club. Donald Muir was the Lloyds man on the board at Ibrox. Now imagine our club was 51% owned by supporters. The Rangers AGM and all major decisions such as electing board members would be a democratic decision. In 2009 Donald Muir would not have been allowed the Ibrox board room. Lloyds TSB would not have been able to exert the pressure they did on Murray to sell. Craig Whyte would never have owned our club. Last year Rangers would have been going for 4 in a row and with the â??big tax caseâ? going our way our debt would be manageable. The Rangers IPO, which closes Tuesday, is our chance to take the first steps towards a fan owned members club. We will not own 51% of the club on Tuesday. It is a difficult time of year and in times of austerity many supporters do not have the cash readily available to invest right now. However, as we now know, it is better to take many small steps in the right direction than to take a great leap forward only to stumble back. Many of us thought Whyte was a great leap forward but now look where we are. It has taken Swansea supporters 9 years to own 20% of their club but now look where they are. German clubs are all 51% owned and look where they are (successful in Europe, highest attendance in Europe & cheapest season tickets in Europe). Barcelona and Real Madrid are based on democratic principles and look where they are. Fan ownership does work. BuyRangers.org is a Community Share scheme which has been set up using the legal status of the Rangers Supporters Trust. Its aim is to pool together the investment of numerous Rangers fans under the one body giving fans a more powerful voice than previously where scattered small shareholders had no say. The minimum investment is a more affordable £125 and it is open to all. You may not have agreed with everything the RST has said in the past but if you believe in the principle of fan ownership and representation please read the prospectus and visit BuyRangers.org. Investing before the IPO deadline on Tuesday either directly at http://www.rangersshareoffer.com or through the RST is the only way to ensure your money goes directly to Rangers. Tuesday, 11 December 2012 16:15 Charles Green Statement Written by Rangers Football Club CHARLES GREEN, Chief Executive of Rangers, issued the following statement today: â??In view of the extensive and somewhat sensationalised media coverage of actions allegedly being taken against the Club by players past and present, I would like to clarify the position for our fans. "There are three separate disputes or litigations ongoing. The first is the Clubâ??s action for damages which has been lodged with an SFA Arbitration Tribunal. "A number of players, Alan McGregor, Kyle Lafferty, Rhys McCabe, Sone Aluko, Steven Davis, John Fleck, Steven Naismith, Steven Whittaker and Jamie Ness objected to their contracts of employment being transferred under TUPE regulations from the oldco Rangers to the company as it now stands. "The transfer was carried out as with every other member of staff in order to protect employees during oldco Rangers insolvency. â??The Rangers Football Club believes the playersâ?? objections were incompetent and the players unilaterally terminated their contracts in an unlawful manner and is pursuing damages through the SFA Arbitration Tribunal. â??Discussions took place with representatives of some of the players and agreements were reached with Davis, Fleck and McCabe. â??Representatives of the remaining players have challenged the right of the Club to be involved in the SFA process and a preliminary hearing has been fixed for January 7, 2013 to determine these jurisdictional issues. "Senior counsel has advised the Club that prospects of winning these preliminary arguments are good. If the Club is unable to pursue its rights through the SFA there are other routes available to pursue compensation from the players and their new clubs. â??Separately PFA Scotland has raised an employment tribunal claim against the Club supposedly on behalf of 67 unnamed players, alleging a failure to consult on the part of oldco prior to the playersâ?? contracts being transferred on June 14. "Senior counsel has given a robust opinion that PFA Scotland has no locus or standing to raise such a claim in the circumstances of the case. â??The fact that many of the supposed 67 players are still at Ibrox and have indicated they have no part in this action begs the question why it is being raised at all. "Further, it appears that a number of players whose contracts were due to terminate at the end of last season and who were never in line to transfer under TUPE have been included in the numbers. "Also, a number of former players have already signed agreements with the Club waiving any right to participate in this claim. â??In reality, we are talking about six players who have some form of dispute rather than 67. "Rangers fans will note how the Club captain Lee McCulloch and a number of other players have quickly dissociated themselves from this action. "I have also had the father of one player calling, quite furious that his young son has been attached to an action he knew nothing about. "PFA Scotland has confirmed as much in its statement earlier today. That statement confirms that the failure to consult claim apparently lodged for the benefit of 67 players will be withdrawn if the Clubâ??s SFA damages claim against the 6 players is dropped. "The purpose of the failure to consult claim is therefore not to safeguard the rights of the 67 players but to attempt to persuade the Club to abandon its legitimate pursuit of compensation from players who in the Clubâ??s view, walked out on their contracts of employment. â??Finally three players - Aluko, Lafferty and Ness - have also raised constructive dismissal claims against the Club as it stands now. "We have challenged their right to do so and these are low value claims. It should be noted that the players were employed by new clubs almost immediately on terms we believe to be at least as beneficial as those they enjoyed at Rangers. â??It is disappointing that players who have left the Club to further their own careers rather than play in Division Three should be continuing with these actions or allowing them to be progressed on their behalf. "I am in no doubt that the supporters who are showing such outstanding loyalty to Rangers will form their own views as the Club continues to rebuild.â?

Sixty-seven players 'in legal action' over Rangers contract transfer STV 10 December 2012 17:08 GMT FacebookTweetGoogle Legal action: Rangers released details of the claims in their share proposal.© SNS Group Sixty-seven players are involved in legal action against Rangers over the handling of their contracts. PFA Scotland has raised an employment tribunal claim, which Rangers say is on behalf of 67 unnamed players, relating to a failure "to inform and consult". The action relates to the transfer of player contracts between the oldco and newco Rangers following the sale of the club's assets to Charles Green's consortium. In addition, three former players Sone Aluko, Kyle Lafferty and Jamie Ness are taking Rangers to a separate employment tribunal over the circumstances that led to them leaving the club, citing "constructive dismissal". STV understands both claims have been lodged with HM Courts and Tribunal Service in Glasgow, though no dates for hearings have yet been set. A consortium of businessmen led by Charles Green bought the assets of Rangers old company while it was in the hands of administrators. Player contracts were transferred to the new company under TUPE legislation when Mr Greenâ??s consortium took control of the club. However, several first team players refused to transfer their contracts and left for other clubs, a matter which has been taken to the Scottish Football Association for arbitration and will be heard next year. Details of the claims being raised were detailed in a share prospectus issued by Rangers ahead of their stock market flotation. In the prospectus, the Ibrox club challenged PFA Scotlandâ??s right to bring a claim on behalf of 67 players and said it wants a pre-tribunal hearing to dismiss their claim. Rangers also said that they will defend the separate claim by Aluko, Lafferty and Ness. The share proposal also states: "They claim constructive dismissal. [Rangers Football Club Ltd] has challenged the right of these players to bring such claims for a number of separate jurisdictional reasons, but in any event these are low value claims." Rangers believe the claims have been made "for tactical purposes" relating to the dispute over the transfer of their registration which the Scottish FA arbitration is to settle. http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/rangers/205234-sixty-seven-players-take-legal-action-over-rangers-contract-transfer/

BIG BOOST FOR RANGERS ATTACK ON HMRC RANGERS have given the go-ahead for Ibrox stars to take to Twitter to back the epetition to force the Government to probe HMRC and the criminal leaks to the now totally discredited Rangers Tax Case blog. It is the first time any football club has ever given permission to players to take part in such a high profile on-line campaign and the backing from the Blue Room once again shows the way the new Rangers regime is working with supporters to fight the clubâ??s enemies. Already, in the past few days, evidence of the bond which is forming between Charles Green, Imran Ahmad and Brian Stockbridge, became evident when Green announced that Rangers were backing the supporters calls for a boycott of the Scottish Cup tie against Dundee United at Tannadice and that Rangers were taking no tickets. That was the first big bombshell news which underlined and proved what I first revealed here a fortnight ago, namely that there is a strong appetite among the powerbrokers inside Ibrox to make common cause with responsible supporters groups against those who have previously had a free rein to attack Rangers. Of course the usual suspects were soon bleating their disbelief. But now, in the wake of the combined operations of Rangers and Rangers supporters over the Dundee United cup clash, they should know better. Also, now the fact that Charles Green Imran Ahmad and Brian Stockbridge have agreed to pleas from supporters to recruit Rangers players to the campaign to force a probe into HMRC and its dealings with Rangers, further underlines the Rangers regimeâ??s commitments to being men of the people. It was not a step and a decision they were able to take lightly, for they know the many powerful enemies of Rangers inside the Hampden boardroom of the Scottish Football Association, where Stewart Regan and Peter Lawwell form a formidable alliance, are watching and waiting for any opportunity to charge Rangers with improper conduct. However, after taking top level legal advice, the new Rangers regime have allowed Rangers players to join Rangers supporters in the campaign to unmask the criminal who leaked confidential tax information from HMRC to the now totally disgraced and discredited Rangers Tax Case blog. The players have been told they are free to post links on their Twitter accounts to the epetition. The link is http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/42143 If you want your electronic signature to count then remember to confirm the email link you will be sent. A total of 100,000 signatures are needed to ensure the whole sad sorry tale of the HMRC behaviour towards Rangers is raised in the House, leading, it is hoped, to a Government probe. The hope is that not only the illegal leak will be investigated, but that senior HMRC officials will also be grilled and made to answer why it was they allowed Craig Whyte to gtet away without paying PAYE, VAT and NI for such a long time that the debt was such that Rangers had to be placed in administration, eventually leading to Liquidation and the Third Division. If Rangers supporters take to the web and swamp this epetition with their electronic signatures then, in tandem with the Rangers regimeâ??s unprecedented co-operation in signing up the Ibrox players, a mighty machine can swing into action and lead to justice for Rangers. With somebody eventually feeling the grip of the steel bracelets on their wrists as they hear the order of....take him down! ...... AND..... I hear there is a startling omission from the ranks of those Rangers stars from the past who have been invited to parade at Ibrox before Saturdayâ??s game to celebrate 140 years of Rangers history. Gordon Smith, one of the key members of Jock Wallaceâ??s 1978 Treble winning team, has not been asked to join the throng of legends. Whoever it was who left Smudgerâ??s name off the list should be ashamed. ..... FINALLY.... ANOTHER victory over the forces lined up against them by the new Rangers regime. The statement by Charles Green that Rangers intend to hand over their share of the gate money from the Scottish Cup tie against Dundee United to charity, was a masterstroke. I donâ??t know who is advising Charles, but whoever it is, is already doing a very good job. The BBCâ??s arch-anti Rangers â?? and anti Dundee â?? man on Tayside, the absolutely appalling Jim Spence, has just had the feet cut from under him. As have everyone inside the Scottish Football Associationâ??s Hampden boardroom where many suspected that board big shot Peter Lawwell and his poodle, Stewart Regan, were plotting a plan to make Rangers look bad over the principled stand taken by Rangers supporters and backed by the club. There are some fun times ahead for those who support Rangers. And a bumpy ride for the clubâ??s enemies. Inside Hampden and elsewhere too.

Peter McNeils Grand-Daughters are now both living in London. They unfortunately can't be with us on Saturday but i do believe that there may be a message from them in the Match-Day Programme.
