  1. the lad mcgregor from st mirren is better than what we have. the lad boyd from ross county is better. even sicknote from hearts is better than what we have. we went outside scotland to get faure and argyriou and both of them are complete duds. we need players who want to play for rangers.
  2. you put across a very very strong case comeofit.
  3. thats not strictly true rab. scottish football has made many good careers for players, probably none more so than henrik larsson.
  4. oh think i have to agree to disagree here mate. i can just imagine their smug smiles in the studio when talking to him as he said it.
  5. he didnt mock the line, i believe he was mocking ally somewhat.
  6. are you sure? there looked to be quite a lot of their fans there.
  7. he also mocked allys dont walk away line.
  8. i dont think he would come back, certainly not to play for ally anyway.
  9. shinnie mocked our players for transferring over to play in division 3, i doubt he is one of them.
  10. what was best for us and me yesterday was being united with our fellow fans and club and not turning up at tannadice.
  11. the manager kept jim sinclair in his job mate. ally has total control over footballing matters and if he feels the youth dept are not providing enough players of enough quality then things need to change but of course ally thinks his pal sinky is doing a fine job. you are correct about our scouting, its a joke.
  12. their photos should be everywhere.
  13. a frightening fact if it is indeed a fact. the money we haemorrhage every year is disgusting.
  14. more than half of his career has been spent in the first division and bottom 6 though. for what its worth, i did say he has more experience than hutton. in my opinion is a far better player too. i like john rankin. left rangers as a kid to go to man utd as well i thought i heard yesterday.
  15. in what way?
  16. i see regan and the bbc were having a right good wee laugh at us yesterday. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21309776 mocking ally too at the end.
  17. this thread could top the mccoist one and there wont be a better post than this one.
  18. i agree with this but that alone wont satisfy our fans hunger for success in the short term. our kids need help.
  19. plain and simple the boycott failed. those traitors embarassed our club and themselves.
  20. see my post above mate.
  21. lets compare like for like - alexander - an international goalkeeper with over 300 apps in professional football and several top european match experiences. cierzniak - a journeyman with 14 clubs in his career and only 175 apps in 12 years. ----------------------------------------------------- faure - a product of the world famous lyon youth academy and capped by france at every level from under 17 to under 20. watson - a wee tim from livingston who has been at utd since a kid. -------------------------------------------------- wallace - scotland international, capped at senior and youth level. almost 200 careers apps in scotlands top flight. stand in club captain at both hearts and rangers. douglas - glaswegian born, livingston youth signed by utd from queens park. ------------------------------------------- cribari - over 200 apps in serie a, champions league experience and an ex player of some of serie a's top clubs. dillon - a mediocre nobody. spent the last 6 years at dundee utd after moving from the eire league. ---------------------------------------------- gunning - former tranmere, bury and rotherham player. capped a few times by ireland under 21s. perry - capped by scotland at under 19 and 21 level several times. been in and around the first team at rangers for years. -------------------------------------------------- flood - rejected by cardiff, man city and celtic. constantly loaned out to average clubs. capped by the irish at youth level. around 160 apps in over 10 years. black - almost 250 career apps in 8 years. scottish cup winner, club captain at hearts and inverness. on the fringes of the scotland national team. ----------------------------------------------- hutton - capped by scotland at 19's and 21's. champions league experience already and a product of our own youth academy. 1 league title and 1 league cup win to his name already. rankin - undoubtedly more match experienced than kyle hutton but at what level. a bottom 6 spl player is what john rankin is. almost 300 first team apps in 10 years. won nothing. ------------------------------------------ little - an international player with an spl winners medal to his name. andy has been in and around the rangers first team for several years now. armstrong - a dundee utd youth player with no honours. ----------------------------- templeton - one of scotlands hottest prospects. capped by scotland at youth level and almost 150 career apps. mackay-steven - just over 50 career apps at airdrie and utd. no honours but has recently been capped by scotland under 21's. --------------------------------- sandaza - a 9 year career spanning 3 countries and 5 different league. a winner of spanish 3rd division and english league 1. russell - dundee utd youth player, capped at scotland youth level. no honours. --------------------------------------- daly - capped by ireland at youth level. a journeyman from englands lower leagues, around 320 career apps in 15 years. scottish cup winner. shiels - an international player with a league cup win to his name. around 250 career apps in 8 years. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- not only did we have an older and more experienced team, we had the better team with the better players and more winners in it than dundee utd. the difference was in the dug out. they had a young vibrant manager with ambition who wants to play football the right way, we have almost the complete opposite.
  22. nonsense berliner. sorry but that is utter nonsense. just more poor excuses. deflection at his weakest.
  23. you are spot on gribz, its a bit like signing a brazilian who cant speak english to play at the heart of a 3rd division defence. utterly ridiculous mate!
  24. we are in the bottom tier and will most likely be next year again. will players see that as a challenge? will they be tempted by the crazy wages we are willing to pay? will this attract more mercenaries than actual footballers with ambition? is our current style of play off putting to any new players? will anyone want to play for a manager who doesnt know how to do his job and lacks discipline or will they see it as easy money? just how do we sell our club to prospective new players and who can we realistically go for? one thing is for sure, we need an injection of quality as soon as possible. i understand the embargo will make things harder but am i right in thinking players can be signed at any time and then registered for the new season on the last day of the summer transfer window? looking at what we have, i wouldnt keep many of them but i know we are not going to have a huge turnaround in playing staff, its just not possible. i think we need a new gk, i would rip up alexander extension offer of £10k a week and give it to a younger guy who would command a fraction of that money. i think we badly need a new right back. the greek is dreadful and all centre halfs shoe-horned there have looked rotten. i think we need 2 new centre backs, despite me thinking the defence is the least of our worries, yesterday showed me just how poor we are there against a higher level of opponent. i have saw lower league defenders through the years playing against higher level opposition look more comfortable than both of those lads we had there yesterday. i think we need 2 centre midfielders. one to partner macleod and one to challenge both first team centre mids. black is a dud and hutton doesnt excite me. we badly need guile, skill and class in the middle. i refuse to accept good footballers cant play in division 3, that is nonsense. i also think we need 2 new strikers, badly, jig is on his very last legs, sandaza is very poor, shiels is dreadful and the manager refuses to play our best striker up front. i make that about 6 or 7 players we need for next season. so who and how do we get them? or are we just going to go with the uncertainty excuse and take the lazy, easy way out.
  25. you are right mate but it isnt allys fault he became rangers manager, that blame lies with walter smith and david murray for almost forcing the job on super. he was never going to knock it back once offered it. both of those men should have known better. leaving us with ally was like one last parting shot from murray.
