Flattery will get you everywhere (but not a discount).

It's worth noting site contributors (i.e. those that submit articles, previews etc) aren't served ads.

I'm too lazy and busy to contribute plus I think everyone has enough of my ramblings as it is.

I think a Gersnet podcast featuring me and DB could be quite entertaining though.

Jokes apart, I will do a preview one of these days.  We need to start playing decent football first though or it will be horrendously negative.

For every person that is willing to pay, others would not or cannot so I'd rather not bring a pay wall in.  I think most of the ads are fairly unobtrusive for members.  I guess we could bring in a paid membership level which removes the ads - I'll discuss that with the rest of the admin team.

FWIW, we don't use pop ups on this site so if you're suffering from them it may be a general user-specific issue with their own device but we'll certainly report it to our ad partner.

Definitely wouldn't want a pay wall, but you could open yourself up to donations. For me, this is not just an extremely well run site with a good balance of members, but it's literally the only choice for a Rangers forum. We all know what the other ones are like.

However, ads have been no issue until this recent occurrence, which is obviously a glitch.

It sounds stupid, but if Liverpool take their chances, they can win it. I can see them blitzing Madrid in the first 20-30 minutes as they can do.

I can also see failing to take their chances, and for Ronaldo to take his one chance.

It could also be a very open game. Quite a few of the last CL games have been quite open.

It isn't stupid at all, Liverpool are a typical Klopp side and devastating going forward on their day. Also, despite all their recent CL success, I honestly don't see this as a great Real Madrid side at all. They failed miserably domestically this season and I think they're benefiting from Europe's other elite clubs being poor recently in Europe. I'm also not entirely sure about Zidane. If he was across the city at Atletico would be working Simeone's miracles? I doubt it. When you've only coached Real Madrid, it's hard to quantify your ability, and finishing third in the league is extremely poor for Real.

However, the gulf in quality between the two sides midfields, man for man, is enormous.

Im not sure this is from Gersnet ads mate.
Frankie has reported to them, but the type of ads they have on our site shouldn't be able to do that. I would need to look more into

It's definitely coming from Gersnet. On my iPhone I get no ads at all anywhere, apart from Gersnet over the past couple of days.

    Sorry to hear that.

I'm going to be offline for a few days but I've asked our ad partner to look into it for you.

Would rather we got no ads and self funded. I would be happy to chip in.

That's not his job as an ambassador though is it?  SBS, you'll find a negative slant on everything to do with Rangers and I don't know why.  Are you like this in other aspects of your life, or just when it comes to Rangers?

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what his role is. If he cannot defend us on a local radio show, how can he defend us on a global level? And again, I'm just looking at this objectively....there's only one person in this topic who's jumping in with an argument that isn't based on any logic.

Regardless, the numbers involved are obscene.

Fair enough. I don't really have any issue with the very elite of any field raking it home though. It's when you hear the wages getting dished out to mediocrity in the EPL that I get annoyed :).

Slightly off topic, but is anybody else viewing this on a mobile, & constantly getting redirected to some amazon survey site??

I was going to raise this. When using my phone, I keep getting ad redirects. It's not topic specific. I'm using an iPhone X and never normally get issues like this.

  9. I said nothing that the entirety of Gersnet were not pretty much in complete agreement with prior to his appointment. When we were failing miserably with Murty, and after a string of appointments lacking decent experience, we were all calling for a more experienced manager - someone with a track record of success at a decent level. Of course all managers are risks, but appointing an untested rookie is obviously a much bigger one, particularly given we literally just did it and he was hopeless.

A lot of our support are absolutely incapable of any objective thought.

The worldwide positive attention & exposure we are getting with the appointment of SG is brilliant, compare that to the Scottish gutter press reaction to this appointment! embarrassing for the Scottish gutter press! regardless if SG is a success the board have to be applauded for this.

The Scottish media's reaction to this is perfectly understandable. A club on a long run of woeful managerial appointments appointing a guy with next to no managerial experience whatsoever is obviously a massive gamble, if not outright foolishness.

How does that relate to your stats?

Allardyce plays honking football, has never won a single trophy of significance and never will. Managing the mediocre EPL sides is his level, and referring back to my original point, he is probably the best in terms of the mediocre EPL manager merry go round. In the modern era we have seen defensive minded managers like Mourinho, Simeone, Conte etc being hugely successful and winning lots of trophies. Allardyce is no such manager.

    The end.
