  1. Good stuff Frankie :)

I run a small forum myself, and we found that no one (or very few people) signed up without actually seeing things .... we ended up making the basic available to everyone, had other areas that opened up when you joined, and further areas that opened up when you reached a certain post count (members only)

That was on YaBB though, i assume this forum software works along similar lines? you could therefore just open the main forums to everyone, and keep the ticket office and forum support hidden ... in saying that, though, with the small amount of topics, i suppose just letting everyone see everything is the best way to go ........ ach, im just rambling now, im off to have my lunch! :D

  2. Just thinking about the site again ....

Do we sell ourselves short by making people register before they can see the boards? Given the problems we have had, and the fact that membership is a bit low, wouldn't be better to make the forums visible to all guests for a few months? That way, if someone likes what they see, they can register and post ... a lot of people aren't going to give away their email address to a strange site until they can see the product!!

    Views?

  3. Gazza's right about the amount of abuse that the Scots receive from our union partners down south ....... two wrongs of course don't make a right, but i would say that the English fire more abuse our way than what we do in return, and is one of the reasons why i consider myself a nationalist ... nothing to do with being small minded or the like, i just want the best for Scotland and it isn't working within the current disaster that is the UK!

.... but enough about politics!! :D

  4. If you will, Iââ?¬â?¢d like to digress here for a while and examine the tangled web woven by Timmyââ?¬â?¢s political stance. They happily sing ââ?¬Ë?political songsââ?¬â?¢ in support of a racist, murdering gang yet portray themselves as ââ?¬Ë?socialistsââ?¬â?¢. They campaign for a United Ireland, yet support a region of Spain who want independence from Spain (and who will use murderous tactics to gain this independence ââ?¬â?? oh wait, is there a theme developing here?). Also, to a man, theyââ?¬â?¢ll vote for a unionist party here in Scotland / UK????? They will happily fly the Cuban Flag for Castro, along side photos of the Kennedy Clan ââ?¬â?? WTF, surely not even the twisted and bitter mind of a Yahoo can support both Castro and the Kennedyââ?¬â?¢s? You bet they canââ?¬Â¦. You think this is unfathomable, well, could anyone explain how a Yahoo can fly both the flag of the Vatican and the Che Guevara flags? Old Che would be spinning in his graveââ?¬Â¦

Whilst i do agree with Cammy on this ....... the tims are the most mixed up bunch of idiots on this planet ..... i do have to agree with gisabeer - i go to watch the football, and can do without political statements from anyone in the stadium!

  5. Aye, he looked ok today, it has to be said!

I think, however, that when Weir, a 36 year old guy who couldnt get a game down south, comes in and looks so good in our defence, it shows just how bad we have been!!!

I'd be tempted to give Weir another season!

  6. The issue is that if he has a decent striker beside him who works hard, drops deep, etc (Prso?), and if we also had some decent wide players in our midfield who could get service to him, we wouldn't be so critical!! How many times did he get decent service into the box today? Hardly any, and no wonder with the like of Sionko and Adam ...... Sionko would be as well coming off and we could play with 10 men, and Adam is thinking about his next pass 2 mins after he's been robbed of the ball!!!!

Let's not use Boyd as a convenient way to ignore the team's real problems!

  7. Aye, but yer only 1 in 52,000 .... i can't help think sometimes that maybe if we want to fly flags, it would be best to have some specially commissioned Rangers flags and stay away from all the political statement and flag allegiances ......... !!

  8. Our club has no identity mate. :(

    True!

I think i've made my views clear on where i'd like the club to go ..... i'd like them to pursue a more Scottish identity, but i dont think they really know where they are going to be honest!!

Putting Union jacks on will please certain people, conversely putting Saltires on will please others ...... i think mixing them together gets you to the stage where it doesn't please many people at all (such is the current political situation in our country!)

... or maybe we should stay out of political flag-waving altogether!!

  9. Because the Gersnet name has been so popular Stuart was done both times.

It won't happen again. That's why we're so eager to start from scratch and considering the dearth of good Rangers sites out there - there is a gap in the market.

That seems pretty shit, anytime i've used a domain name it's just been auto-renew .... there are some scam merchants out there, eh?

There aren't really any decent Gers sites out there that i found that came close to this to be totally honest!

  10. There is one good thing about the downtime though - we managed to get rid of some of the reprobates like Colshy, Falkirk Jim... ohhhhh, wait - we let him back in - ignore that Jim ;):P

It's a good job you did or there would be even less posts!!

Can i start a campaign to get Colshy back? .... oh sorry, off topic! :D

  11. Can't really commit to any of the first four, but would be happy to help out with General discussion / articles ... i'm also quite handy with websites and html (not that you guys aren't though! :) )

I think what we need most though (and im not being cheeky!) is to make sure that we don't allow this to happen AGAIN ... this is the 2nd time that i can recall the forum just suddenly vanishing overnight, and taking ages to come back .... it's a real shame when all the good work is undone for such a silly reason!! :(

  12. Nice to see you saying Jim how our club WAS being run - using past tense - does this mean you think it is being run better now ?

I just wish we could turn the corner and have forward thinking management (at club level, not playing - although at both would be a bonus)

Not totally sure mate ..... i still don't think we defend our club properly at times!
