  1. He scores and assists a lot for those in his position (in that league) - these stats cover the last 365 days, so will go into the previous season. He doesn't attempt many passes, but when he does, they tend to be longer and riskier. He's quite good at carrying the ball. Not good at blocking nor interceptions. Strange central midfielder...
  2. I think he's more of a sitting player, so I'm being harsh. He looks to be a #8. (I've just seen that he plays with Tillman's older brother.)
  3. One goal and 3 assists in 14 games. Good stuff.
  4. Shall I translate it into Russian for you?
  5. I'm still convinced that a large part of our injury problems stemmed from GvB. I believe we'll see an upturn next season with MB's methods.
  6. Source saying Yilmaz is wanted by MB.
  7. The italics suggest @ranger_syntax was being sarcastic.
  8. Our memories are often inaccurate, too. You always need those players, anyway. @Sutton_blows_goats always talks about Maurice Ross and Bob Malcolm. Average players at best, but integral squad players.
  9. Sakala is similar now but there are those calling for him to be punted.
  10. If this anti-DoF nonsense is present in the boardroom, we are f*cked; we'll be forever stuck in the past.
  11. As I have said previously, I think that's a big mistake.
  12. Just read that Jordi Cruyff is leaving his role as Sporting Director at Barca. We should make a move.
  13. Moyes, Big Sam?
  14. I'm not getting my hopes up. I've been burned too many times before...
  15. What he means is, 'I don't like the DoF, so I'm going to make up anything I can to criticise him and question the whole DoF structure even if every elite side in world football uses one.'
  16. I thought he had Jota in his back pocket...
  17. Bill. ranger_syntax. compo.
  18. They will be available, but you'd need to pay for it.
  19. Right - Bill's in my bad books. I don't care...
  20. Damn you! You know I can't resist those sweet, sweet numbers... This is data from the Champions League. I can't find the exact number you asked for, but we can work around it. His crosses attempted is 4.16 p/90, which is in the 79th percentile; quite high. And, they do go into the penalty area (0.59 p/90, which is 71th percentile; quite high). His expected assists is 0.15 p/90, which is 91st percentile; again very high. His actual assists is... 0. 11th percentile. P*sh. It looks like a combination of no one in the middle, or the forwards not taking the chances, because his expected assists is quite high and a lot are going into the penalty area. Of course, not all of those xA will come from crosses. These number actually contradict what I said about him being a runner: he's actually in the 32 percentile for progressive carries (carrying the ball over 20 metre, or something). He's not actually progressing with the ball. When I think about the Celtic game, I only remember him carrying the ball far once. He does tend to pass it. The data also shows his short passing is poor. What's also interesting is he's better defending further forward - his interceptions are far better in the final third than what they are in the defensive third. His aerial win rate is good, too.
  21. Right--this is it. I can feel it in my waters. The mythical unanimous vote...
