I've heard mention of John Fleck on other platforms. Hope it ain't true!

But are they? If you look at the transfer thread I can't remember anyone suggesting we resign any player. I'm sure someone (probably me) will mention Billy Gilmour, bit outwith that, I don't think anyone has suggest we sign ex-players. However, it has worked in the past on a few notable occasions.

Why?

They don't, but they didn't need to be inspired. Doesn't matter when they played for Rangers. Do you think any Rangers player should require to be "inspired"? If we do, then our standards have fallen

Doesn't take away from the fact that Tav was captain during those campaigns.

But Alfie didn't pick the team. Everyone knew Alfie was injured yet Gio kept selecting him.

Why should it trigger a ban? And how was the competition easier? Those players mentioned "threw" away 10-in-a-row, had battles against Aberdeen and Celtic for titles. One Aberdeen team took us to last game of the season and one Celtic team lost 1 league game all season and we still found a way to triumph. Those players went to Elland Road and defeated Leeds (1st team to win there that season) with "no" away fans. Those players played in and won (and lost) epic cup semi-finals and finals winning some with 10 men. They inspired themselves - they didn't need a captain "in their faces".

Utter nonsense. If any Rangers player needs to be "inspired", they need moved on. Did the likes of McCoist, Ian Ferguson, Stuart McCall, John Brown, Ian Durrant, Davie Cooper et al require Butcher and / or Gough in their "faces"?

And if any Rangers player needs to be "inspired", they need moved on.

So how did he inspire the team to the SPL title, the Scottish Cup, 2 decent runs and 1 amazing run in Europe Is he to blame for all the failures but not responsible for any success?

So are we suggesting that Alfie ignored the medical.advice and played whilst injured and his manager and medical staff were OK with this?

Said elsewhere he shouldn't be captain but there are many players which need chased before Tav.

Do we replace him before replacing the other weaknesses in our team? Do we continue with the perma-injured players like Roofe, Jack, Helander etc and replace Tav? We can't replace everyone at the same time, so some of these "failures" will be here short to medium term. If rather keep Tav than McGregor, McLaughlin, Wright, Kamara, Alfie, Jack, Roofe etc.

So what do you suggest? How do we rebuild? Who do we get in to replace Beale? Who do we sign to improve the squad? How can we get our youth development functioning correctly?

We simply can't replace everyone in the starting 11. In fact Beale mentioned 2 or 3 new faces in for next season. Unless or until we get 7 or 8 new faces, we are going to be 2nd best.

Goalie blameless? Midfield blameless? Strikers blameless? Subs blameless? Coaches blameless? DoF blameless? Board blameless?

Off course there is and Tav being captain isn't the main reason for it.

But that can be labelled at all of our players, not just Tav. I don't think Tav should be captain but there are not many other options to be honest.

Really? So what's the implications of asking how many trophies we've won with Tav and how many trebles Celtic have won? Strange things to posy if it's not directly aimed at Tav.

So it's only Tavs fault that we've only won 2 trophies? Holy smoke......

It's same with Alfie. Alfies time is up undoubtedly but I for one will remember him as the striker who bullied European defences for two seasons and scored a barrel-load of goals. I am still raging at Gio for playing Alfie whilst he was clearly injured and in my humble opinion cost us the EL last season. A fit Morelos and we'd have won.

So why ask the question?

How can you blame Tav for Celtics dominance? Was our 9-in-a-row solely down to Butcher and Gough? Only my opinion, we'll miss Tav when he has gone. I recently watched the highlights of our EL games last season and all our goals during 55 and was amazed in how many Tav was directly involved in. He is no Sandy Jardine of Gary Stevens, but also he is no Jim Denny or Alex Clelland.
