  1. Only got "lifted over once" was at Cathkin remember sitting on pitch due to size of crowd and Davy Wilson running into me when he scored one of his goals, shame what happened to "HiHi's"

I'm sure the thirds we formed the same year as us Mack and they got their nickname when a player kicked the ball so high it went out the ground (allegedly) so the fans chanted hi hi hi lol...

  2. He still has all his friends in the media I see!!

I have never taken these awards seriously since well before they gave Hartson and Rickson the joint POTY award in 2005 when neither player was in the top 6 players for their club. The media make a big thing of them to try to boost circulation numbers and fill their pages with easy stories and pictures, but in reality they are about as useful as a Ronnie Delia team talk and about as accurate as an Efe Ambrose tackle. I see Ronnie won the award also, so go figure!

The good thing about Kenny getting the award is the jungles will be spewing more than you tannoch....

  3. I think once you've budgeted for a season ticket and the other expenses of the league games then it's hard to start justifying more money for cup games (moreso to the wives when you have kids), especially when these days, they are not that enticing. The SP is a one horse race and so not an interesting league for most of us, and the lower divisions just means more games against teams we've now seen plenty of.

Of course there are some who spend vast sums folling the club to every game and they will obviously be there, as will others - it looks like about every second regular will attend.

Some will just pick and choose which cup games to go to depending on their circumstances and "botheredness".

If there were no season tickets and it was all pay as you go, I think we'd just see a more even spread, enhanced with things like Saturday at 3pm, no TV and the weather, being as important as the attractiveness of the opposition.

When i was young Cal i used to go to peoples houses and ask for ginger bottles to take back to the shops for my money for the games at ibrox. My elderly neighbours would say, the gers must be at home this week wee jimmys at the door lol...

  4. Spot on Bruno! I just don't get that 45K can turn up for a league game but only 20-25K bother with a cup tie against a much better side that should be a much better game. I don't buy this scheduling nonsense, if we were playing Killie in the league at the same time live on to on Saturday the crowd would be 40-45K. We clearly have around 20K fans who believe their ST money is all they want to spend on our club. However if we had drawn the bheasts and the game was scheduled for the same day/time, it would be crammed full, so does that mean our fickle fans are only drawn to certain opponents and if so, why? As a Rangers supporter it matters not a jot who we are playing, it is OUR side I go to see, not the opponent. I have been to many games over the years where I can't remember who we are playing as I go through the turnstiles!

Doesn't our club get money for cup games at ibrox? These are the games we should be flocking to so the club has extra revenue...

  5. I don't like early KOs as I am up really early for work during the week but no, I am not disappointed and am very much looking forward to the match. It is one I would like to think we can play well in and win.

Enjoy it blue, and don't boo gedion or Kenny oh wait....wrong thread lol...

  6. Sorry but we are not going to get an end product out of Zalelam, Arsenal are, so I don't know why so much is being spoke about his development.

What we all want is the end product of promotion so let's concentrate on players here to give us that and beyond and worry about their development.

Your helping to keep it going Mack lol...

  7. Have our tickets for the game. First one outside of our season tickets we will have attended all season. Think there will be more interest in this one. Had second thoughts when we realised it is an early KO which doesn't really suit the paying fans but too late we'd bought the tickets!

    You sound disappointed blue moon???

  8. Messi scored a header v us and I've never once seen him shite out of contesting a header.

The magic hats view on the metronome seems to be in can't trust him in a big game. Or certainly that he should be benched for them all so far. That may change this weekend I suppose.

Messi scored a header against us? Wow, you had to go away back to remember him scoring a headed goal? Lol. How many headed goals did Ray Wilkins, davy Cooper, Bobby Russell, Jim Baxter score? Need I go on?...

  9. What's the fancy name for a player that won't contest a header in modern football. Dress it up how you like he slows play down and we suffer for it. He's dropped a lot recently and only injuries and suspension see him return and when he does our goals dried up most recently. He's never trusted in the big games.

Each to his own I prefer footballers to musical equipment.

The fancy name for a player who won't contest a header in modern football is "Lionel Messi" as for slowing games down and we suffer from it, how many games have we lost in this league campaign? ?? It's all about opinions but its the magic hats that counts and he's not doing too bad is he?....

  10. Regarding O'Halloran, I can't confess to seeing much of him as I don't watch any Scottish football outside us and the internationals. It's not a signing that particularly excites me though simply due to the sheer amount of players at Scottish clubs who bomb at either side of the old firm, the complete lack of quality in Scotland and his lack of impact in English football. Aluko though showed that it is at least possible to get some quality from these clubs so hopefully he has a similar impact. We certainly have an infinitely superior manager now so that gives me some more confidence. I wouldn't be wasting much time on the Scottish leagues for players though, hopefully we start focusing more on continental leagues soon.

I can see warbs playing O'Halloran through the middle as we have McKay/waldo and Tav/waggy bombing up and down the flanks....

  11. I know this isn't us but it is relevant to us:

I see that TGU are preparing for next season already. It's a sobering thought that Stubbs views them as miles ahead of Hibs as they are at the moment far less before they strengthen for our (hoped for) return.

    "DONE DEAL

    Celtic

    Posted at 12:57

Celtic have signed winger Patrick Roberts from Manchester City on an 18-month loan deal.

The 18-year-old moved from Fulham to Man City in a £12m deal in July 2015."

Why would want to know about this crap? It's on sky we don't need to know on here who they've signed...

  12. Warburton said in his interview that when Tav got the ball for the goal he actually wondered why King was not on the RW to give Tav the wide option. That is the problem with such a strict 4-3-3 system that there are few bodies actually in the box. I think Warburton will be glad King broke the system now.

There was a couple of times we put good crosses into the box and the only thing missing was a centre forward, it's driving me nuts lol...
