  1. Probably as I don't really read what he writes. Maybe if he wrote about how he was improving Clyde I may be more interested. Probably not though.

Barry probably does bum up his own players in his match programme but barry is a ranger and always will be and how I wish we had a Barry Ferguson in our midfield right now...

  2. For as long as Celtc supporters seem able to sing IRA songs without fear of reprisal there will always be an element of our support who will continue to sing our so-called 'banned' songs

And the authorities will continue to fine us. Just cut out the add ons and going on about what other teams sing cos it's us that's going to get done all the time, doesn't anyone else notice this?

  3. Rangers hope to land Brentford midfielder Toumani Diagouraga today in deal worth around £500,000

SOURCES in London have confirmed two bids have already been rejected for the 28-year-old Frenchman - but the Gers slapped in a third offer late yesterday afternoon.

RANGERS hope to land Brentford anchor man Toumani Diagouraga today in a deal worth around £500,000.

Record Sport can reveal Ibrox boss Mark Warburton has been chasing Digouraga’s signature since the transfer window opened and sources in London have confirmed two bids have already been booted out in the last few days.

But it’s understood the Championship leaders slapped in a third offer late yesterday afternoon and now Diagouraga is poised to be given the go-ahead to team up with Warburton for a third time after previous spells together at Griffin Park and Watford.

The 28-year-old Frenchman has spent most of his career as a journeyman in England’s lower leagues with spells at the likes of Swindon, Peterborough and Rotheram.

But Warburton made him a first team regular at Brentford last season as the minnows made an unlikely push for the Premier League, losing out in the play off semi-finals.

In fact, he has become one of the most highly-rated defensive midfield specialists in England’s second tier over the last two seasons and Warburton believes his experience could prove vital as Rangers bid to clinch a place in next season’s Premiership.

The signing of Diagouraga would also free up Andy Halliday – who yesterday won his red-card appeal – to move further up the park.

A source close to the London club said last night: “Brentford don’t want to lose him as he’s become such an influential player but Toumani has a strong relationship with Warburton and he likes the idea of being part of what’s going on at Rangers.

“The first couple of offers were rejected but a third bid has now been tabled at it seems as if an agreement is not far away. All going well Toumani could well get his wish befor the end of this week.”

It’s anticipated that Diagouraga will sign a three year deal at Ibrox if he is given the green light to move north and passes a medical.

As Record Sport revealed earlier this week, Warburton is hopeful of adding another experienced campaigner to his group before the window closes for business at the end of this month.

But Accrington pair Josh Windass and Matt Crooks are unlikely to move north in this window.

The pair have signed pre-contracts but Stanley boss John Coleman insists he expects the two players to stay in Lancashire until the summer.

He said: “I told them they weren’t going to leave until the end of the season, and that’s still the position.”

Coleman had a pop at the pair Coleman for disrespecting his club on social media after sealing their moves.

He added: “I don’t get embroiled in social media but I do think going on and seeing the players had tweeted about ‘buzzing to play for a massive club’ is disrespectful to our fans.

“Our fans have backed them through thick and thin and I do think there should be more respect in place.”

Meanwhile, Halliday has had his red card against Hibs reduced to a yellow.

He was sent off for violent conduct by Bobby Madden after barging into Fraser Fyvie during Rangers’ 4-2 Championship win over Hibs on December 28.

But Fyvie was later banned for two games for simulation after holding his head in the immediate aftermath despite the contact being chest to chest.

What gets me is, i can see why Madden thought it was a headbutt cos he was right behind the incident and it did look like a headbutt from his position but why oh why didn't the govan side linesman intervene? Have they been told to shut up?

  4. I am one who remains convinced that Rangers motto was indeed Aye Ready. I remember badges with that in my youth.

Robert McElroy clarified this on another website. Rangers’ motto has officially been ‘Ready’ now for over 40 years. Originally the Rangers motto was ‘Aye Work Awa’ which was then changed to ‘Ready, Aye Ready’, subsequently shortened to ‘Aye Ready’ and finally in 1966 to ‘Ready’. The change in 1966 was explained as being a modernising move, but in fact it was so that the crest could be legally incorporated.

I didn't need Robert to verify it cos us older fans knew it said "aye ready" put the fishing rods away lads lol...

  5. In regards to Nicky Clark going out on loan to Hamilton, we should do it, I'd like to hang on to him as there is still potential there with him. If we bring in another striker let NK go to Hamilton and hope he gets some good form because next season I dont see us being able to keep playing Miller.

Only if we bring in a centre forward id let Clark go cos we're very thin on strikers and we don't know what's around the corner with injuries. As for not playing Miller next season I wouldn't bet on it cos warbs hasn't a bad word to say about Kenny...

  6. Not sure where you get your data from, but Kiernan played about 3 months at Accrington Stanley 3 years ago, while Crooks has played 21 league games (5 goals, 2 assists) for AS this season, as a defensive midfielder.

    Kiernan

    Crooks

Has no one noticed the amount of covering Kiernan has to do when tav disappears all the time? I think big Rob is a good player but he can't be everywhere when he's chasing a left winger that's tavs job....

  7. Without wishing to become involved in an argument Bruno can I point out that you have just made a very very bold statement indeed. Scott can speak for himself and may do so soon. You know nothing whatsoever about me. However, to the subject - provide one photograph, any photograph showing the words "Aye Ready" on the main stand crests and you may regain a little credibility back. They were never there. There are old photos of Bill Struth showing the crest in the background. I had it pointed out to me by my dad around 1962 and have more or less attended Ibrox at every home match since that day. The crest showed the word "Ready".

I'm sorry you took that wee tounge in cheek seriously Scott it wasn't meant but I stand by seeing "aye ready" so instead of me proving it (I'm hopeless on phones) prove me and others on here who said IT was "aye ready," wrong.

  8. Interesting that in amongst those overall stats Falkirk have only conceded 3 goals in 10 home games compared with our 7, while playing mainly against teams who "park the bus" at Ibrox playing 4-4-1-1 or the like, albeit we have scored nearly twice as many goals.

Also when you look at our away goals against record: 8 conceded in 9 games is not dissimilar to Hibs 9 in 9, QoS are better with only 7 in 9 and even St Mirren are arguably better with 9 in 10. Where we prevail again is in goals scored where we are averaging almost 3 a game.

Falkirk play a very controlled type of football ably coached by Houston and marshalled on the pitch by Mark Kerr. If they can avoid injuries and suspensions I think they'll run Hibs very close for second.

Have you a wee soft spot for the bairns BH? Lol..

  9. @mdrcrooks: what a difference a year makes..absolutely buzzing to sign for such a massive, ambitious club @RangersFC.

Good stuff, welcome to the most successful club in the world, young men...
