@STVPaul: Josh Windass & Matt Crooks have signed pre-contract agreements with Rangers after passing medicals. 4 year deals. Will join in the summer.
They must have been impressed with our rangers legend kal naismith when he was at Accrington last season, CB...

Had this discussion many times and most of us who were going to Ibrox in 50' & 60's are certain that "Aye Ready" was on the Copland end of the main stand( can't say about Broomie). Problem is we cannot prove it.
But we seen it with our own rangers eyes....

Brave post on this forum! Good for you. I've not got involved because I have seen so little of us play since early in the saeson but I lnow Ibrox crowd's lack of patience form 50 yeas of experiencing it.
I noted this, which would appear to back up your claim:
"Arsenal midfielder Gedion Zelalem has extended his loan deal with Rangers until the end of the season after helping the Scottish club climb to the top of the Scottish second division.
Zelalem, 18, has made 15 appearances for Rangers so far -- including 12 in the league -- and set up two goals on his debut in the League Cup.
The American under-23 international is seen as one of the most talented members of Arsenal's youth academy, having joined the Gunners from Hertha Berlin two years ago."

Dont forget us rangers fans were used to watching Ian black, shiels, law, Hutton, Crawford, faure, for the past few years in the midfield, so we would have forgot what a good midfield player looked like lol....the only way we'll get to see young gedion again is when he'll be playing in the champions league with the gunners...

I've been a regular at matches since 1960 and didn't know that folk sang "derry boys" until I read it on here a few hours ago.
I also have been a regular since 1960 and it was " we are the brigton Derry, fu-k the po-e and the virgin mary"...

Ian, there are supporters, ex players and historians who will swear blind they saw the motto "Aye Ready" on both crests attached to the main stand at Ibrox.
It did have "aye ready"....

The whole point of putting a scouting system into place is to find good players as cheaply as possible. Yes, their CVs may not be fantastic but that doesn't mean they're not good players or capable of being developed into such. Further for every Kiernan critic, there's someone like me who thinks he looks a really useful player and capable of improvement alongside a more experienced centre half. Then there's the likes of Waghorn and Tavernier that have done very well by and large.
Every signing has an element of risk as there's so many factors related to transfers. Will they settle in the country? Do they speak English? Will their family move? Will they make friends in the dressing room? Can they form professional relationships with the management team? Will they stay injury free? Will the fans be patient? How will they fit into our system? How will they cope with a spell of bad (or even good) form? Who is their agent? Etc etc etc....
Obviously a good scouting system will try its best to answer these questions in advance but ultimately we won't know until we know. And sometimes it may cost us a few million pounds in the process.
I don't know much about Windass, Crooks, Forrester or Gostomski and it's fair to say I'm not convinced at their lack of profile. However, I'm also acutely aware of where our clubs stands financially and past expensive mistakes which almost gave us no club to support. To that end, I'm excited by a refreshed approach to the transfer market and I think the manager and his team have done enough to suggest their eye for a player seems acceptable enough all things considered.
Let's at least give them a few months to a year in the jersey before we write them off.
Totally agree Frankie, I like Kiernan he's been here six months and still finding his feet in Scottish fitbaw. Rangers fans want instant success but those days are gone because the money isn't there anymore to bring in big name signings...

So are you suggesting we should sign players purely because they've played in our leagues?
We should take them over players who are probably better than them?
Probably? I'm certainly not against it Rab. ..

If we genuinely have ambition then these are the sort of calibre of players we should be looking at instead of the SPL dross
At least the SPL dross know what its like to play in this rough league..

Since its xmas and I can dream
Will Hughes CM
Patrick Bamford CF
Joe Gomez CB

He certainly has a lot of potential and I believe he will become a top player. As you say he really does have to become more dangerous.
What gets me is if law and shiels get a run and cock it up some fans will be wanting young zela back...

Would have been quite happy for the boy to go back to Arsenal. He has a chance to be a good player, but he needs to develop a killer ball and not take the easy option without looking at what else is available. Neat and tidy is a good grounding, but it won't be enough to become a top player.
Now that he is staying, I really want to see him push on and be coached properly in the areas that need work, and see some progress in the pace he works at, and his awareness of options, including shooting opportunities that he never seems to consider. He could be a valuable member of our promotion push if he progresses.
Coached properly tannoch? ...

Seems that Zelalem is staying with is (longer than January):
Good stuff it's a marathon not a Sprint....

Actually, you can agree with a lot of what is being said above. Much of it echoes what is being said on this board. We are at the half-way stage of the championship race, so nothing is won, no matter who wins on Monday. But January will sure impact on what will happen in the second half of the campaign.
Gary is a big gers fan like us...
