I don't see how it's condescending. When someone said something like, "it appears Cenkos are resigning as NOMAD for Rangers on AIM", I didn't immediately follow it. I had to look up NOMAD and piece it together. I'm not in the finance industry and not familiar in the stock exchange terms or actually that interested in being savvy about it. Maybe your average fan is clued up about these things but I doubt it. And I would suspect many would not be bothered about looking it up. I really don't see the problem with explaining such stuff for others if you are more in the know. I think the condescension is when you're sneered at if you don't immediately get it. I'm not talking about belief, I'm talking about comprehension.

You felt a fanny? Or did you attract a dog?

Doubt many can name all nine teams in our league at the moment. That will change when the season starts. It's a bit early and not terribly exciting...

The problem is, what are the chances of a board of financial wheeler dealers running rings round him and pulling the wool over his eyes?
-
That may be, but I think the question is, IF we make a profit, will it be reinvested or paid out as dividends?

I'm sorry if you feel my opinion of your capacity for comprehension is low, although I must admit, you do seem to have trouble understanding your fellow posters. Sometimes I'm not sure whether it's deliberate or not. I'll leave it up to you to worry about any superiority complex you may have. I don't think it's a topic for this thread.

There's £20m worth of people putting their money up who perhaps think differently. But there won't be much chance for a few years yet, so you've got plenty of time to chuckle, better buy a corset.

PS Jedi is a pretty big religion in the States.

Are you talking about "The Force"?

I have no idea, but it's supposed to be good medicine...

As has been said, the complaints have not been about the messenger, but instead about the inability or reluctance of the messenger to actually communicate whatever the message is in a way that is easily understood. No point being a windtalker when your audience doesn't speak Navaho. The messenger might find it annoying to have to spell it out, but in the end it all depends what they actually want to achieve. Actually communicating the message doesn't seem like a high priority, which makes for a pretty ineffective messenger.

Probably depends if we make a post tax profit...

I think the trouble there is that most Scottish fans don't realise the reality of the money situation. There was a time when Hearts, Aberdeen and Dundee Utd were spending a million on a player and with prices having gone up about fivefold, they are now spending less. There is no money in the SPL and it's not a great product in Scotland's premier competition. Fans look to England's top league and it's a different universe. We pretty much originally invented football and taught the world how to play, and as such, continually forget how small a country we are.
-
The point is that a high proportion of fans will not really understand the findings and will not have the inclination to gen up; they have more pressing issues in their private lives than the machinations of the Rangers board.
-
It does feel like there is a takeover of the board by a self interested faction. We really only have WS left to put our trust in. If he's surrounded by a cabal then he has no chance.

As a preference, how about Cowdenbeath for Donald Findlay?

RANGERS will be unseeded when the first round draw of the League Cup takes place at Hampden tomorrow. And that means they will draw one of the 10 First Division sides or the top five in the Second Division from last season. http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/4455-gers-unseeded-in-lc-draw? Seems like another fix to me to spread the Rangers pound around. The 3rd division teams have already had their share and Albion Rovers have been cut in. We're now in the 2nd division so I predict a first division side. Why wouldn't we be seeded with our LC record in the last five years? Or is it strictly on last year's placing in all divisions? All seems a bit strange for the competitions most successful club - and the conquerors of the 2nd team in the Scottish leagues last season.

Agree, and I don't see many fans putting the dozens of hours of research in after even more educating themselves enough to understand the documentation. What percentage will know what a NOMAD is? I didn't till I recently looked it up and I'm sure I'm not the only one. And just because business and legal stuff seem more relevant to Rangers these days, does not make it any less excruciatingly dull for your average layman. The same would be true if the pertinent field were architecture, building regs, computing systems, fire regulations, soil mechanics or medicine etc and even sports science will be yawn inducing for most. We're just about to install Wifi and yet no-one is discussing RFC 5416 despite the nice acronym...

I can't see a boycott of Ibrox happening easily for many reasons. Especially not without widespread knowledge of something to boycott for. Even just the idea of the slagging from you know who, I think would put a large amount off. There may be shenanigans behind the scenes but the information is not solid enough to hang your coat on it, or create a lynching party mentality.

I'm assuming IPO money is being used...
-
But then the biggest half truth of all was that we were guilty of cheating our way to titles via tax evasion...
-
I thought it had already been published?
-
I don't think he's complaining about the quality of the information per se, it's the fact that many fans are accused of inaction and not heeding the warnings - or of just not being perpetually outraged, when in actuality there is not enough reliable and concrete information to give a clear understanding of what's happening behind the scenes or indeed, to make a plan of action...
-
That's not good logic. That does not follow at all. What the logic says is that just because Capone was convicted of tax evasion does not mean he was a gangster. The fact he was a gangster is irrelevant to that logic. Here's an easier example for you of your own logic: Just because you are an F1 driver does not mean you drive a Red Bull. "Vettel is an F1 driver so that means Vettel doesn't drive a Red Bull".

I need to find a pub to watch the footie this season, hopefully my local which do a burger and a pint for a fiver. Another pint at about 3 quid should do it so eight quid a game. Far cheaper than any Sky or BT deal and you effectively get free food and alcohol...
