Craig Whyte claims he will gladly walk away from Rangers "with nothing" if it is in the best interests of the club. The Motherwell-born businessman bought out Sir David Murray's 85.3% shareholding last May for £1, but the initial feelgood factor disappeared in February when the club entered administration over alleged non-payment of £9million in PAYE and VAT taxes, accrued following Whyte's takeover. Since then there has been much turmoil in Govan not least when it emerged that Whyte was able to fund his takeover by selling future season tickets to Ticketus, a partnership which ultimately raked in £30.5million and which left the the investment firm a key player as administrators Duff and Phelps search for new owners. Blue Knights, headed by former Rangers director Paul Murray, American investors Club 9 Sports and a Singapore-based group are all expected to make formal bids for the club by Wednesday, the deadline set by the administrators before they choose a preferred bidder. Whyte is bemused at being described by the administrators last month as "absolutely irrelevant" to their efforts to sell the club but is willing to smooth the way for his successor or successors, in the right circumstances. "They can describe me this way if they like, but I would disagree with it," said Whyte. "I am still the owner. "But I am willing to walk away if it is for the good of the club. I wouldn't make anything out of it. "I have £30 million in cash and guarantees on the line but I would walk away if it is best for Rangers. "I have been in touch with a couple of bidders. If I can help any of them I will." Whyte, though, has little time for Murray but it is unlikely that he would try to prevent the Blue Knights being nominated as the preferred bidder. "We have never seen eye to eye," said Whyte, who is in regular contact with the administrators. "I haven't spoken to him since last May. He is one of the old board. I don't see what he brings to the party. "But there are some good guys in the Blue Knights and I've spoken to a couple of them, and I have no problem with them. "People will put their bids in by Wednesday and we will see what happens." Regardless of who eventually gains control of the Govan club, its future remains uncertain. Joint-administrator Paul Clark warned over the weekend that "it is certainly possible Rangers would be liquidated" when new owners take charge. Whyte is adamant that liquidation would be the wrong outcome. He said: "I do not favour liquidation at all, it is not necessary. "I want to exit administration with a CVA (company voluntary arrangement). There is no reason whatsoever that that can't happen. "Liquidation is no good for Rangers, it will end 140 years of history "I can understand why some people might think it is a good idea but we have to keep Rangers alive. "And there is absolutely no reason why a CVA can't happen." http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/12/04/02/SOCCER_Rangers_Nightlead.html&TEAMHD=soccer&BID=165

BLUE KNIGHTS figurehead Paul Murray says he has no intention of pushing the crisis-hit club into liquidation should his consortium be chosen as the preferred bidder. Murray was responding after Paul Clark, of administrators Duff and Phelps, warned over the weekend that "it is certainly possible Rangers would be liquidated" when new owners take charge. The Blue Knights, American investors Club 9 Sports and a Singapore-based group are all expected to make formal bids for the Ibrox club by Wednesday, the deadline set by the administrators before they choose a preferred bidder. Murray, a former Rangers director, claims he is closer to an agreement to include in his consortium Ticketus, the investment firm whose controversial £24.4million season ticket deal allowed Craig Whyte to complete his takeover of the club in May last year. And if Ticketus, who own the rights to a tranche of future season tickets at Ibrox, can be brought on board then Murray is hopeful Rangers can come out of administration with a company voluntary arrangement (CVA). "It seems the other groups are pushing to put the club into liquidation," Murray told the Scottish Daily Mail. "That is not what I want to do. They have their own reasons for wanting that - but it's not part of my plan. "Paul Clark was misquoting me if he said I was considering that. I didn't say that. "I'm a little bit surprised and concerned, in fact, that the administrators seem to be almost moving things towards liquidation in the last couple of days. "From my point of view, first and foremost, we want to reach agreement with creditors - a CVA. "That's the whole reason I'm talking to Ticketus. Those talks are ongoing and we're getting closer, although it's not done yet. "I'm trying to put in place a restructuring deal that involves a CVA. I think the football and financial benefits of that outweigh the liquidation option. "So I don't know why Paul Clark seems to be briefing in that direction. It is certainly not my intention to put the club into liquidation." http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/2012/04/02/rangers-in-crisis-paul-murray-insists-his-blue-knights-consortium-can-save-club-from-liquidation-86908-23810481/

The Northern Irishman felt his side didnâ??t get the rub of the green in the 2-0 defeat at Celtic Park. St Johnstone boss Steve Lomas says "three key decisions" cost his side the chance of a result against Celtic. Two second-half goals gave Celtic all three points against the Perth side but after the game Lomas took issue with refereeâ??s George Salmond. The Northern Irishman called the free-kick which lead to Celticâ??s first goal â??softâ?? before claiming Liam Craig was fouled in the build up to the hostsâ?? second goal. Lomas also believes the official should have given his team a penalty when Francisco Sandaza was challenged by Glenn Loovens in the box. "My boys were brilliant yet again," he said. "Probably the only criticism I can aim at them is that when you have your chances you have to take them and we didn't do that. "I felt a lot went against us. I felt we didn't get the rub of the green. "Celtic Park is a hard enough place to come to get something, they are a fantastic team, they thoroughly deserve the championship when it comes but we feel mightily aggrieved today. "I don't want to criticise referees but in our opinion, Francisco Sandaza has a blatant penalty, the second goal is a free-kick on Liam (Craig) and even the first goal came from a very soft free-kick. "At 1-0 you are still in it. There was a short corner and Liam is going to swing it in and the boy clatters him. "I just do not understand how you cannot see that as a free-kick and Celtic break up the other end and seal the game. "For the penalty, the ball is bouncing around, Fran nicks it across him, the defender doesn't get it and crashes into him. "At the end of the day I am not here to witch hunt referees. They say they (decisions) even themselves up but we ain't seeing that at the minute. "There's a lot of positives but there is a lot of disappointed boys in there because they put in so much." http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/st-johnstone/302294-steve-lomas-feels-three-key-decisions-went-against-st-johnstone/

I believe the players have shown they want to stay at Rangers and are just in the same position as us fans,they/we don't know what will happen.Of course the players will want to know if they are still in a job,but I don't expect any of them to jump ship until they find out what is happening and I'm sure if any other clubs contact any of the players about a potential move the players will tell them they are waiting to find out what is happening with the Rangers which will be appreciated by any other manager. It just gets messier by the day.

STEVEN WHITTAKER doesnâ??t have mere team-mates at Rangers. They are more like friends. Family even. And that is why he is praying Duff and Phelps can find a buyer for Rangers to prevent this batch of Ibrox brothers having to suffer a harrowing summer separation. The Scotland star has been through the mill with this current group and collected three successive championship medals during his time in the trenches with his troops. But with the club in administration and liquidation a genuine concern, Whittaker knows there is a serious threat of the Light Blue bunch being ripped apart by hungry English vultures. Agreements are in place for Ibrox stars to be offloaded at cut-price fees in the summer if a new owner is not found for the club soon. West Brom have been first on the scene to sniff around the prospect of snapping up international pair Allan McGregor and Steven Naismith for a bargain-basement double deal of £3.5million. Others will also go and Whittaker canâ??t bear the thought of a clearout. Having suffered through this recent awful period, the utility man insists their bond has never been stronger and Whittaker wants the group to be given the chance in 2012-13 to win back the title they are going to lose to Celtic this month. The player, who scored a screamer of a goal in Saturdayâ??s 2-1 win at Motherwell, said: â??The commitment from the players has always been there. â??A few of us signed longer contracts last year and that shows our commitment to the club. â??We are all in this together and, hopefully, we can be next season, too. The squad has bonded tighter than ever recently. â??We have always been a close-knit group and that has shown over the past seasons. Weâ??ll continue to be like that. â??We donâ??t know what could have happened this season or what could have been but we can only play in the circumstances weâ??re in. â??They havenâ??t been great but we hope we can look forward to next season, that something can be sorted and the club can go forward. â??As players, we just want to concentrate on football and hope the rest can sort itself out. â??You are made aware of what is going on but we donâ??t know the ins-and-outs of it. â??Itâ??s up to us to keep up performances and as a team and a squad over the past few years we have been successful. â??This year is the first in four that we are not going to win anything and we are determined to put that right next season. â??Hopefully we can go forward as a club.â? http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/spl/rangers/2012/04/02/steven-whittaker-rangers-troubles-have-brought-players-closer-together-i-just-hope-we-re-still-here-next-season-86908-23810321/

KYLE LAFFERTY can quit Rangers for a knockdown £500,000 in the summer. SunSport understands the fit-again striker negotiated a similar cut-price agreement with the club's administrators as team-mates Stevie Naismith and Allan McGregor in return for accepting a 75 per cent wage cut. Gers paid £3.25million for Lafferty in 2008, but a host of English clubs, including Derek McInnes' Bristol City, are now eyeing a bargain deal for the 24-year-old ex-Burnley star. Lafferty, who made his comeback in last week's 3-2 win over Celtic after two-and-a-half months out with a hamstring tear, has just over a year left of his contract. However he is still open to talks over an extension. SunSport revealed on Friday West Brom are keen to take advantage of the reduced £2m price tag on frontman Naismith and £1.5m fee for keeper McGregor. Prior to going into administration Gers valued the Scotland pair at £7m and £6m respectively, while Lafferty had a £1.5m tag on his head. BRIAN KENNEDY could be set for a dramatic return to the bidding war for Rangers. The Edinburgh-born businessman has become increasingly concerned after his first offer for the stricken SPL champions was rejected last week. Kennedy claimed he would not return to the negotiating table, but SunSport understands the 51-year-old is continuing to monitor the ongoing Ibrox crisis closely. Administrators Duff & Phelps have set a Wednesday deadline for final and best bids for Gers. Paul Murray and his Blue Knights — the men the fans have backed — are in the running along with US-based Club 9 Sports. But it's feared the Americans could opt for liquidation if they become preferred bidders. Kennedy is believed to be more concerned for the future of Rangers now than ever before. The administrators are also understood to be hopeful the Sale Sharks owner will make an improved offer. Meanwhile, Gers director Dave King does not believe Sir David Murray's claim that he was 'duped' by his successor, Craig Whyte. King said: "I do not believe that there will be a single person in Scotland who has dealt with both gentlemen that would believe that Craig Whyte had the capacity to dupe David Murray." MOTHERWELL keeper Darren Randolph has cleared Sone Aluko of diving and told blunder ref Iain Brines: I deserved a red card! The Fir Park shotstopper tripped Rangers hitman Aluko as the Nigerian skipped past him inside the box. Incredibly, Brines booked the Rangers man for simulation and awarded a goal-kick. Republic of Ireland keeper Randolph, however, has admitted the decision was completely wrong and it left him stunned. Randolph said: "Everyone saw it. I was sat on the floor waiting for my marching orders so I don’t know why the referee didn’t give it. "I definitely made contact. I missed the ball and got him. But the ref booked him instead so I wasn’t going to complain. Sone said something to me, but I said to him that it wasn’t my problem. I don’t give the red cards or penalties so what did he want me to do? "He kind of shrugged me off, so I left him to it. I kind of put an arm over his shoulder and he threw it back in my face. I just said: “What do want me to do?” ì I was sat on the floor waiting for my marching orders so I don’t know why the referee didn’t give it î Darren Randolph Aluko was found guilty by the SFA of diving to win a penalty in an SPL clash earlier this season ˆ even though Rangers insisted he was tugged - and Randolph believes the Ibrox striker's reputation is now goingbefore him. The keeper added: "If people feel he goes down too easy and I am not saying he does then that can definitely play a part in situations like this. But people on the sidelines heard me kick his shinpad, so I don’t know how the ref missed it." There is no appeal for a yellow card offence and Aluko will now need to take the rap for a "dive." Motherwell took the lead but lost out after Steven Whittaker netted and then Lee McCulloch popped up with a last-gasp winner. The Lanarkshire side are now facing pressure from the likes of St Johnstone for third space. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/312039/Aluko-didn-t-dive-admits-Randolph

JUST as sure as Sunday follows Saturday, the Duff and Phelps Two, Paul Clark and David Whitehouse, send out a message on Saturday to be carried in the Sunday papers, which seems calculated to do damage to Paul Murray and the True Blue Knights. Clark and Whitehouse, remember, are employed by a company whose senior partner, David Grier, was part of the stitch up which saw conman Craig Whyte buy Rangers. And they did not disappoint again at the weekend when they tried to put a positive spin on the splendid Daily Record expose which unmasked the Chicago Mob as plunderers whose only reason for wanting to buy Rangers is to plunge the club into the turmoil of liquidation. And then sell Rangers on for a fast buck. Maybe even to Craig Whyte, whose business buddy, Andrew Ellis has been linked with the Chicago Mob So what did the Duff and Phelps Two, Clark and Whitehouse do to try and get out of that â??un? Simple! They claimed that even if Paul Murray and the True Blue Knights, who have Walter Smithâ??s backing, win the fight for control, Rangers MAY still go into liquidation. Well, of course that is the case. And nobody, not Paul Murray or any of the True Blue Knights, would deny the possibility exists. For it is a fact after the damage in inflicted on the club by Craig Whyte after David Murray sold out Rangers to him. But it exists only as a last resort, if things get so bad that there is NO ALTERNATIVE. Only then would Paul Murray and the True Blue Knights look at liquidation. Unlike the Chicago Mob who would make it the first thing they did after they got their hands on Rangers. And as for anyone else who is trying to land Rangers? They have all been so secretive â?? something which the Duff and Phelps Two, Clark and Whitehouse have colluded with â?? that it is reasonable to assume that putting Rangers into liquidation is top of their list of things to do if they win control of Rangers. Leaving Paul Murray and the True Blue Knights as the only bidders who are intent on doing everything in their power to ensure that Rangers do NOT going into liquidation. But the conflicting messages which come out of the Craig Whyte appointed administrators,, Duff and Phelps, where Whyteâ??s pal and business associate David Grier is a senior partner, continue to be mixed messages. Contradictions abound. And the question of why, on their first day after Rangers moved into their charge as administrators, February 15th, they did not instigate court proceedings to try and get the dodgy deal which saw the ownership of Rangers pass from David Murray to Craig Whyte, declared null and void, has never been answered by Duff and Phelps. Had they done so six weeks ago then it is reasonable to assume the situation would by now, as we move into April, have been resolved, or be close to being resolved. As it is, Whyte still lays claim to being the legal owner of 85.3per cent of Rangersâ?? shares. So, just what have the Duff and Phelps Two, Clark and Whitehouse, been up to when they could have been fighting conman Whyte in the courts? Apart from running up a bill for well over £1M and rising all the time, to be trousered by Craig Whyteâ??s pal and business associate, and Duff and Phelps senior partner, David Grier? Plus appearing to rubbish Paul Murray and the True Blue Knights and consistently feeding the Sunday newspapers pap â?? though cleverly worded pap it has to be admitted â?? about the intentions of the Walter Smith backed Paul Murray and the True Blue Knights. For unlike the Chicago Mob, and any other anonymous bidders who Duff and Phelps collude with to hide their identity, liquidation is NOT at the top of the True Blue Knightsâ?? agenda. It is way down at the bottom as the very LAST resort if ALL else fails to get Rangers back on track. The Duff and Phelps Two, Paul Clark and David Whitehouse, can use whatever weasel words they choseâ?¦.but they cannot fool most of the people most of the time. http://leggoland2.blogspot.co.uk/
