Our very own manager, during his current tenure, has mentioned "doing the dirty work" and having to do the "ugly side" from time to time.....
Really now, let's see you just accept it with no qualms as it plays out tomorrow then. Potentially crippling tackles such as we saw on Roofe on Wednesday. No problem for you despite the fact it's being advertised ahead of time that this is pretty much the plan.

I do. You bemoan thuggery and yet celebrate it via your profile pic.
Repetition is often worthless too.
You're clearly so far gone in this talk just to be talking contrary bubble you don't even know when you're doing it. Nor when it plumbs new levels of pointless absurdity.
We have an opposition manager openly talking about intending violent play in an upcoming match. What it amounts to is admitting an intention to be deliberately violent which will include a real risk of seriously injuring our players. Intentional risk. Instructions of the manager.
And you, contrarian genius that you are, equate that to a one off heat of the moment incident. Do we have a manager instructing players to go out there and punch opposition players? If we do they're miserably failing to follow instructions because it's a rare event.
And when the incident you're trying to equate with deliberate thuggery occured it was a response to deliberate thuggery. A response I myself may have carried out in the heat of the moment.
But not on instruction from the manager nor a preconceived personal plan. And a response the manager would have given me a dressing down for given the risk of being red carded. He would not have either instructed it nor praised it when it did happen. And neither would I. I have always complained about the retaliation of Alfie. And Kent too when he was red carded in France.
Is all that anything like the preconceived thuggery our players face? A preconceived thuggery not just condoned but actually ordered by opposition managers?
What are you? A Manchurian candidate who would even suggest far less think that's anything like preconceived planned thuggery on the team you're supposed to be supporting? On the basis of a comedic avatar of a punch being thrown at an individual so many would like to punch but in no way suggests this should be a common event? Well it appears you actually are suggesting it.
Suggesting there's any similarity between the non stop fouling and attacks the opposition inflict on us weekly on their managers instructions? I could say unbelievable, but given the source I wont.
Now you go ahead and ramble some further pointless nonsense just to be talking and carrying on an obvious bizarre obsession to be contrary to me. In your contrary world there must be some weird creatures around here if you think avatars are to be considered the source of celebration.0 -

Like swinging a punch at an opposition player.
Really? You seriously think this is a pertinent remark in the context of this thread? It's the usual worthless talking to be talking while saying nothing with any worthwhile content I have come to expect from you. But go ahead, let me see the attempt to validate it before I point out the pointless inane nature of it.

Not every team has the finances of Rangers and Celtic and, ergo, will attract certain types and standards of players. They have a job to do which is to stay in the top division. Nothing wrong with them playing to their own strengths, even though it isnt what we like to see ourselves. I didnt see (m)any of us complain when parking the bus against Barcelona and holding on for a 0-0 draw.
There isn't a difference between tight defence and blatant thuggery?

Finding myself feel some hate for this guy, though maybe I should attempt to put that aside and try to appreciate the honesty. McInnes when we go to the sheep pen tries to pretend it's a football match and they're going to play football. When we all know it's nothing but a kick fest on their part.
This guy at least doesn't try to pretend otherwise I suppose. And then the Scottish league wonder why we can't sell this kind of anti football.0 -
Not a mention of playing football.
"getting in peoples faces"
"do the ugly side"
"they'll know they've been in a battle"
How many random people who saw those three comments but didn't know what they were referring to would guess it was a football match.0 -
Maybe the Scottish league could be more supportive given that Alfie faces this crap on a regular basis. Like they're doing in England.

One more thought on it. Steven Gerrard has obviously forgotten more about football than any of us will ever know. With that in mind I find this interesting.
QuoteRANGERS BOSS Steven Gerrard is concerned that football will be suspended if coronavirus protocols continue to be breached.
The Scottish government warned it could call a halt to the game in Scotland after Boli Bolingoli’s “error of judgement”, the Celtic defender having failed to quarantine following a secret trip to Spain and then playing in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock.
https://www.the42.ie/steven-gerrard-fears-football-season-will-be-cancelled-if-mistakes-continue-5173292-Aug2020/I'm thinking why is he so concerned? Does he think his time has come? That he's fashioned a side who can take this league? Which would be a striking achievement keeping in mind the shambles he inherited and the financial disadvantages he has been facing.
If the season were cancelled could that in his mind be stealing the glory he thinks is there for the taking this season? A potentially gold star page in his record book regarding his dreams of credentials to be a future manager of Liverpool.
He took over a club in shambles, Led them to impressive Euro runs against opposition who also had financial advantages. And took a title all the nay sayers have been saying was impossible for him to take.
Just a speculation on what may be the thoughts of Gerrard.0 -

We actually play another two games before they play. We are also at home to Killie the following week whilst Celtic have the later game that day. So everything going well we should be 11 clear by the time they next kick a competitive ball domestically
Even better. If we just keep winning even if they win that game following ours with Killie then they're still under the pressure of being 8 behind a team coasting and maybe even still not conceding. They have never been under such pressure.
They will be away to Dundee United following our game at home to Killie. DU are a side looking to make a statement of we're back and taking something from them would be such a statement. They're certainly currently under more pressure than we are.
And that's an unexpected turn of events. All the talk pre season was around the massive pressure Rangers would be under.1 -
I'm looking for another win Sunday to establish an 8 point lead over them and hopefully a comfortable GD advantage. Now granted they will have two games in hand even if we win Sunday but that's still two games they need to go out and win.
Under the pressure of knowing that if we slip up and even draw again we're beginning to trail by a not insignificant amount.

Only side yet to concede a goal.

Can't believe that wasn't a straight red.

Wow, Roofe and Itten. This might be interesting.

I was happy at the weekend to cancel out that GD advantage they had after their rout of Hamilton. We're now topping the table with a narrow GD advantage. Would like to see it widened to pad out the points.
If we keep winning we will have a comfortable lead over the yahoos when they start playing again. Now of course they only need to win to reduce it. But in saying that it's not guaranteed, it would put pressure on them.
And in fact one of their ex players, think it was Shaun Maloney, mentioned that he thought Rangers 3-0 win on Sunday put pressure on them when they played Killie soon afterwards and dropped 2 points.0 -
A negative test at this point doesn't mean they're in the clear. As has been well publicised it can take up to a couple of weeks before a positive test shows after initial infection which is exactly why 8 sheep are in isolation when only 2 tested positive.
Could this be the yahoo fate in the CL?
QuoteLinfield's Champions League preliminary round tie with FC Drita was postponed just over an hour before kick-off after a second player from the Kosovan side tested positive for Covid-19.
Uefa regulations for this season's Covid-19 affected competition suggest that Drita may now forfeit the tie.

He must isolate now. Amusing
Or did he play and both teams are at risk?
Think he played the final few minutes, but they say he tested negative.

I didn't see it but 63% of the possession doesn't sound like completely outplayed.

Heart and Hand were the match day sponsors. He says they got his MOM pick wrong. Or ignored it.

The more often it doesn't work the more likely it is to change.
It has to be detrimental for the entire Scottish game. Last week we played away at the sheep. A side who have pretensions of being contenders, are playing at home, and doing pretty much exactly what the minnows do at Ibrox. It's pathetic.

Funny how Sean Maloney recognised how well we played and the rotation and interplay , yet Twitter says we were poor , hmmmmmm Belgium ass manager or twitter , let me think ?.
Baffling indeed.
Possession: Rangers 74% - St Mirren 26%
Shots: Rangers 28 - St Mirren 4
Shots on target: Rangers 12 - St Mirren 2
Corners: Rangers 14 - St Mirren 1
What sort of stats would good require?2 -

Barisic crosses may become even more productive when he has Itten in there lurking. I expect to see more than one ball fly off the head of Itten and into the net from a Barsic cross.
