To my knowledge he didn't actually say anything about hibs as such, but did effectively say Rangers were a dream move impying Rangers are a far greater platform for him. Which I would agree with obviously. Who wouldn't.

But it could be fairly said he was actively trying to work a ticket out of there with his comments regardless of the fact they're accurate.

Quite a season for Liverpool. European champions, world club champions, EPL champions. Now their biggest challenge may be convincing Klopp to break his habit of moving on.

Solskjaer did his chances of keeping the job no harm. Left it late to claim a CL spot but made it at the last gasp despite appearing to be also rans for a large part of the season.

I sometimes wonder if some of these clubs get their info by reading mad Phil. Rangers are skint, admin anytime, (every quarter) throw ten bob at them and they will snap it up.

If he goes I would say two strikers are a definite requirement. We can't rely on Defoe who may have hit that spot where little niggles and strains will be commonplace and take time to heal. Dykes would appear a potential in the circumstances.

Knows the league, fast and physical, capable of creating disruption in packed penalty areas while Aribo dances his way into the mayhem.
 

At the end of the day the captain is whoever the manager says it is. And who is better qualified to decide that than captain of Liverpool at 23 Steven Gerrard?

The difficult thing for our club is that we cannot buy 'winners'. We need to rely on developing players into winners. Whilst I cannot deny the improvement under SG, only time will tell if he is capable of turning our squad into 'winners'...

Who outside Scotland is impressed by winning anything in Scotland? Probably no one. What does impress them is Euro success.

While it's fair to say they haven't won anything yet I wouldn't say they haven't achieved anything. Last 16 of the Europa league from QR1 is an unprecedented achievement. 

At the time I didn't notice quite how well executed that back heel flick from Hagi was. I did notice at the time that Alfie should have put that away.

Encouraging that Aribo is scoring goals and we're not talking tap ins or even clear shots at goal with plenty of space. That's two games in a row he has shimmied into a packed area and netted.

Could/should have scored more goals. But i'm looking for more urgency and intent when the real action begins. Players would have a bit of don't risk injury at the back of their minds in this game.

Tragic. Just 47. 

I think Coventry will be looking for a fitness run out but wont want to be thrashed. I suspect they may set up highly defensively since firstly, they're outclassed against a potent attacking force.

And secondly as the new boys in the Championship chances are that's what a large part of their season is going to be. Playing defensively and looking to snatch something on the break.

And since that's exactly what we will be facing week in week out in the season ahead it might be a good choice for the final pre-season game. I feel we can be confident that despite the sheep being at home in the opening game they will be exercising a huge amount of wall building.

This game can be a final exercise in breaking that down.

I'm not entirely sure I would bid that much, would depend on how badly the club wanted him and do they think there would be a return in both performance and sell on value. I also suspect that Livi may have allegedly turned down a bid of a million from Barnsley because Dykes may hav declined it. Might want to hang on for Rangers.

Barnsley just barely escaped relegation from the championship, finished 21st of 24 by a single point. What would yo want to do? Join a club fighting relegation from the championship or a high profile club fighting for trophies and competing in Europe?

EDIT: Something else I just found, Barnsley may still be relegated to league one "pending Wigan appeal"

A bid for Dykes may become increasingly likely if Defoe is going to be out for sometime.
