Assuming the newspapers were correct and we spent £5-£7M to get him, do you think he has delivered? To me he’s a good player but at that price he should be making all the difference in games like today and last Wednesday.

£5-£7m is a bargain when you consider there are some players in EPL League 1 costing that much. I think he will grow and develop and be worth every penny.

Be careful what you wish for.

Totally agree, every time a goal is scored in the EPL there is a pause as a large percentage of goals are referred as the defending team puts pressure on the ref even if there hasn't been an incident - they hope VAR spots something!! It has reduced the spontaneity and atmosphere within the ground. I'd defer VAR until we see it working properly.

  3. Boxing day football

    Spurs  2 Brighton  0

    Aston Villa  1 Norwich  0

    Bournemouth 2 Arsenal  1

    Chelsea 3 Southampton 1

    Palace 1 West ham  1

    Everton 2 Burnley 0

    Sheffield 1 Watford 1

    United 1 Newcastle 0

    Leicester 2 liverpool 1

    Wolves 0 Manchester city 2

  4. I think this game could be the turning point. Win this and we are set for the rest of the season, lose and confidence will be dented. With that line up (minus Davis who i believe is out) we can win this and give the whole club a boost. 2-1 methinks.

I would take Rodgers - but I think Allegri would be a good option.  Arsenal's biggest failing is at the back, and Allegri would sort that out IMO.

According to Talksport, Allegri was in the running for the job before Emery, but his English is even worse so he was rejected. Not sure Rogers would leave at the mo, maybe at the end of the season. Personally i'd love Arsenal to give the job back to Wenger ;)

  6. Are these really the last amateur side? So are clubs like Cowdenbeath (always had a soft spot for these looking in from afar like i do now) and Stenhousemuir professional clubs with 355 and 571 av attendances respectively? I'm sure there are many others in L1 & L2 with similar crowds - how can they be professional and afford the squad salary or am i missing something?

No EPL tonight but EPL teams in their League Cup:

    Liverpool v Arsenal

    Villa v Wolves - that’s stormer

    Chelsea v United.

What’s the odds on three aways?

Massive, with the way Arsenal and Utd are playing. Saying that, they will probably both win and Wolves lose!

Suppose it depends on who is taking it seriously and not making too many changes with PL games 3 days later.
