I'm sure I'm not the first to say it but Scott McKenna is a proverbial tap in - 27, left footed Scottish international who's played at a good level and  *knows our league* (I know. Forgive me) who's been frozen out and who's contract is up in the summer...

Get him signed on a pre in January early doors and then try and negotiate a fee to bring him in early from a position of strength. If not he can come in the summer.

I'd be disappointed if the club haven't sounded his agent out tbh.

Helps that we know Wilson, or at least it should.

Yup, I've had the same thoughts.

  2. "Now we have to confirm that we are growing over the next few weeks and months. We don't speak about the title. That's a marathon. We've been good in our two sprints so far - Seville and today. The rest of the season is a marathon - that's a different sport. We need to focus on ourselves.

"We need to stay hungry and ambitious, to work hard and grow as a team and a club. If we do that, success comes automatically."

    This man is sheer class.

At the time Valencia was kind of struggling in the League, which gave rise to the comparison.

They fielded, in addition to the guys you mention, Mendieta (a player, btw), Claudio Lopez, and Kily Gonzalez, and, yes we were schooled.

Anyway, are you suggesting that Aberdeen is the Betis of Scotland?

Gaizka Mendieta is the best midfielder I've seen at Ibrox, absolutely bossed us and looked as if he hardly broke sweat.

He will certainly have taken the chances that Dessers and Danilo have missed despite his lack of real pace.

Absolutely, you don't need pace to get yourself into goal scoring positions, we've been sucked in before to buying fast, when in most of our games it does nothing for us, teams sitting in negates it's effectiveness. He's not the messiah, no one's saying he is, but he'd be an upgrade on what we have now.

'Someone from the club will be telling him the fans will love it.'

PC doesn't strike me as a manager who would invest in what fans think. Fans want success, that'll be his driver.
