Will Ian Black be punished for blatant kick at head of Jelavic?
Frankie replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Of course he didn't. Obviously he meant to bring him down but he wasn't intentionally trying to bugger his season. He can't say the same this time - he tried to kick the player in the head which is extremely dangerous. -

Black actually drinks in my local and is a decent lad for the most part... I might invite Nikica down for a pint one evening and let them sort it out in the car park. I know who'd win! -
Solid home win against Hearts at Ibrox means Rangers are now just two wins away from a third consecutive SPL title. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=411:rangers-4-0-hearts-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :sp: I don't think Papac has had a great season and his attitude/form lately has been suspect. However, like a few players on Saturday he was at the top of his game and showed he's still worth a new contract in the summer. Nods of appreciation to Edu, Davis and Lafferty who also played well. Jelavic is just a joy to watch - on a different level at times.

That's true but, with the benefit of hindsight, I'm more angry at him for the first 10 years. Of course 9IAR is something we will all remember forever but his short-term outlook and failure to invest long-term in our future while we had good income streams is his biggest failing looking back for me. The last 10 years have been full of crap but he will point to maintaining our competitiveness on the park as evidence of his continued success. Fair enough but when you add in fiscal risks, poor supporter relationships and other issues then it only shows him to have been a mediocre custodian as opposed to the legend he should have been.

I'd consider myself reasonably neutral when it comes to SDM. I think he did a lot of great work for this club but a few mistakes and gambles have resulted in his tenure ending in a negative fashion. Therefore it is difficult to blame anyone for criticising the latter part of Murray's reign in particular. As for 'direct pipelines to knowledge' well that's not really fair. A few of us on the forum (mods or not actually) do have certain people they may trust to have 'inside' info' on the club. Sometimes such info is accurate - other times it's not. Mainly though the information is worth discussing out of interest at the very least. Similarly, a few of us have worked directly with SDM in the past so are able to make further learned judgements from that. That's not to say these judgements are wholly accurate though. Finally, your accusation that attempts at discussion are deemed un-Rangers like I'm struggling to understand. Even though you've only been on the forum for a couple of months, I'm sure you've read a wide variety of posts and opinions on any given subject - not to mention the articles the main site publishes. Just because an admin or mod may have a specific opinion doesn't mean the site does per se or that discussion is not permitted. To be absolutely clear all discussion and all opinions are welcome on this site - as long as they are conveyed in the spirit of mature debate. Disagreement is healthy and any website would be a boring place if everyone agreed or mods didn't encourage debate.

I think he started very well but his lack of pace means he's not an option for the Scottish game. In saying that, you can usually see his obvious quality on the ball and his set-pieces are normally pretty good. Generally though he wouldn't be worth the money.

Aye, why not mate! CHEERS!

He's certainly more than capable of fighting his corner this fella, I'll give him that.

Mate - don't worry about it. Many thanks as always for dealing with all this on our behalf.

Official Rangers Statement on sale of the club
Frankie replied to Rangers Football Club's topic in Rangers Chat
It's certainly open to interpretation mate. The debt is off our books but we don't know if we'll be paying WT for the privilege and/or for how long. It does say this debt will be waived at some point but is this guaranteed? -

It appears Phil Betts may be the key to this. -

Probably but would his strategy have been any different from that of the existing board? -

I just can't believe that Whyte et al won't have planned for a worst case scenario. Tax tribunal ended today IIRC so we should know more within 6 weeks. -
FFS, I can't believe you've let BD win this...

Definitely not Dillon! Dixon is a decent left back but like Wallace at Hearts is better going forward than defending. I think Papac offers a better balance but perhaps a freshness there may be agreeable for next season. Swanson and Russell were both superb at Ibrox the other week while Goodwillie is a fine prospect. Conway I'm less enthused by and I'd want him least despite his greater experience. Generally, I'd hope we can set our sights higher than any of these players.

There have been a few cracking jokes doing the rounds by text. I hope we can save a few more for 10 days time! Come on the bears!
