If you don't count the Xmas period, then that maybe true...

I think Alexander is a good signing... Good competition for places with the goalies.

Simon Davis > In (loan from Fulham)

Hutchison is average - no more. I would like to have seen us a creative midfielder as I don't know about you but when Ferguson went down injured last night I was sh!tting myself.

Very interesting - cheers Johnny boy - by the way check your pms...

Not heard anything about this guy and I doubt we'd have the funds to spend on one player like that.

Nope - even the article suggest it's just the player touting himself...

Rangers 2 : 0 Hearts (CIS Cup) - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
Frankie replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
I thought Whittaker did very well. A few mistakes in possession but generally he had a good game under a fair bit of pressure. -
Can't say either particularly excite me... Moore certainly seems to have a better reputation but not sure he'd fit into the lone striker role as well as Lafferty (or Larsen) would...

Linked again strongly with Luke Moore this morning...

Becoming a professional player takes mental discipline more than anything. It's very difficult to ignore other things in your life at such a young age and I take my hat off to any of these players that can do both while having the courage to risk their whole life for the sake of the game. For me I had the choice of education and football. I chose education but I doubt I'd have had the mental discipline to really stick to football anyway. I used to get homesick even in Dundee for pre-season training and there is a lot of pressure on you from coaches/managers etc which required strength. That's why I've always said Rangers should introduce scholarships and a live-in boarding school for the best young talent. The amount we must lose because of social or life issues must be huge.

We played France at Stark's Park (Raith Rovers' ground) and all I can remember from that night (it was the last game of the season for most of the squad) was the two strikers for France being different class. One (I don't know which) was really quick and hit the bar with a shot hit so hard I can remember hardly even seeing the ball. We managed to draw 2-2 but they were the best team I played against in my 'international career'.

I put my education before my footballing career and not many teams like that - they don't offer time out for college/uni courses then like they do now. But booze, women, injuries and eyesight issues ended my career in my mid 20s at Junior level. I was a goalie for what it's worth. There were no real stars in our national side other than Stevie Boyack (former Hearts/Rangers), Garry Brady (played against us on Saturday) and Scott Wilson (former Rangers). Danny Murphy (Liverpool/Fulham) also played that night and I played against players like Thierry Henry, Mauro Camoranesi and Rigobert Song. At the time I kept some of the programmes but not all of them so there are probably a lot more bigger names than I can remember.

Cheeky bugger...! I've just turned 31... My caps were in 1991 and 1992. I played against England in the Victory Shield at Ibrox - defeated 0-1 by England (Philip Neville scored) although I did win man of the match - not that you'd know it from the coverage on Sportscene that night. Also played against France, Italy, Russia, Czech Republic, USA, Cameroon and more...

The pic is from the Ronnie Moran Liverpool game where Dailly scored the consolation goal. http://www.ronniemoran.com/testimonial.htm

I never signed full pro for Utd but was an 'S' Form there for 2 years. Also played for Scotland at under 15/16 level several times.

I knew Dailly when I played at Dundee Utd - he's no Celtic fan (neither was his brother Marcus who I played with) so no idea why he was playing in that game. Probably making up the numbers as he'll be doing here...
